Account Manager, Advanced Performance Materials (EMEA)

Germany, Belgium or France | Remote & Field-Based | Up to 50% Travel

Shape the future of industries that power modern life.

At Chemours, we're creating chemistry that enables some of the world's most important technologies. From advanced semiconductor manufacturing and clean energy solutions to medical applications, data centers, aerospace and high-performance industrial systems, our materials help make innovation possible.

We're looking for an Account Manager to join our Advanced Performance Materials (APM) business and take ownership of a portfolio of high-value customers across EMEA. This is a role for someone who enjoys being in front of customers, building long-term partnerships, and identifying opportunities that go beyond today's business needs.

You will inherit an established portfolio of accounts and help shape their future growth. These are not transactional relationships. Success comes from understanding your customers' organizations, building C-level relationships, influencing long-term strategy, and helping customers navigate a rapidly evolving market landscape.

Why this role?

The Advanced Performance Materials market is experiencing significant transformation, driven by developments in aerospace, clean energy, semiconductors, AI, advanced electronics, medical technology, and automotives (including BEV) initiatives.

At Chemours, you'll work with globally recognized technologies and brands including Teflon™, Viton™, Krytox™ and Nafion™, supporting customers whose products ultimately impact everything from medical devices and pharmaceutical delivery systems to industrial infrastructure, electric mobility, data centers and next-generation electronics.

You'll join a collaborative team of commercial, technical and business development professionals, supported by Chemours' European technology center and laboratory facilities in Geneva, where customers can test, develop and scale innovative applications.

What you'll do

As an Account Manager, you will:

  • Manage and grow a portfolio of accounts across EMEA
  • Develop and execute long-term account plans aligned with customer and business objectives
  • Build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders and executive decision makers
  • Identify and convert growth opportunities within existing accounts and target markets
  • Lead complex commercial negotiations and enterprise agreements
  • Work closely with technical, marketing, supply chain and operations teams to deliver customer solutions
  • Represent customer needs internally and help shape commercial and market strategies
  • Maintain a strong presence with customers through regular site visits and face-to-face engagement

What you'll bring

We're particularly interested in professionals who combine strong commercial skills with deep industry knowledge.

Ideally, you will have:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, chemistry, business or a related discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience in account management, enterprise sales, channel management or commercial leadership role within the (fluoro)polymer industry of which you at least have worked for the same company for a couple of years.
  • Experience within polymers, fluoropolymers, specialty chemicals, advanced materials or adjacent industries
  • Proven success managing complex and strategic customer relationships and commercial agreements
  • Strong understanding of strategic markets such as semiconductors, aerospace, automotive, medical, clean energy or data centers
  • Excellent strategic planning and negotiation skills
  • Ability to influence across complex stakeholder environments
  • CRM and account planning experience
  • English language skills; German is highly valued and German and Italian are a strong plus.

Most importantly, you're someone who enjoys being with customers, understands how long-term partnerships are built, and can translate market developments into commercial opportunities.

What Chemours offers

Besides working on technologies that help shape the future, you'll join a company known for collaboration, innovation and technical excellence.

You'll benefit from:

  • A highly valued customer-facing role with significant autonomy
  • Access to leading technologies, R&D capabilities and technical experts
  • Collaboration with a diverse international EMEA team
  • Opportunities for future leadership and career growth
  • Competitive salary, annual incentive plan and local benefits package
  • Flexible remote working combined with meaningful customer engagement (travel up to 50% of the time)

Our recruitment process

Our selection process has been designed to provide candidates with meaningful insight into both the role and Chemours.

The process consists of:

  • 30-minute recruiter introduction call via MS Teams
  • Online assessment via Korn Ferry (approximately 100 minutes)
  • First interview with the hiring managers (60 minutes, via Teams)
  • Final business interviews with senior commercial leadership and HR.

Don't meet every requirement?

Research shows that some candidates hesitate to apply unless they meet every qualification. At Chemours, we're committed to building a diverse, inclusive and authentic workplace. You may be exactly the person we're looking for, either for this role or another opportunity within Chemours.
