About ResourceWise
ResourceWise provides commodity pricing, market intelligence, analytics, and strategic insights across chemicals, forest products, and renewable fuels. Our intelligence helps customers make more informed commercial decisions, manage risk, and improve business performance.
Its entities include Forest2Market Inc., Fisher International, Inc., Tecnon OrbiChem, Ltd., Prima Regulated Markets Ltd., Chemical Intelligence, and WRI.
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced chemical-industry professional to own and grow a portfolio of customer relationships across the Chemicals vertical. This is a commercial account management role, not a traditional market analyst position or a role selling physical chemicals. The Account Manager is accountable for customer retention, subscription renewals, revenue growth, adoption, and demonstrating the business value of ResourceWise market intelligence.
Successful candidates understand chemical value chains and how procurement, manufacturing, supply chain, pricing, and sales teams use independent market information to make better buy-make-sell decisions. You will work closely with market experts, product teams, and commercial colleagues to connect our intelligence to measurable customer outcomes.
What You'll Do
- Own a portfolio of chemical-industry accounts, build multilevel stakeholder relationships, and create proactive account plans.
- Lead subscription renewals, identify retention risks early, negotiate commercial terms, and meet renewal, retention, and growth objectives.
- Expand existing relationships through discovery of unmet needs, additional users, chemical coverage, analytics, forecasts, and data delivery opportunities.
- Conduct purposeful business reviews that connect customer objectives and workflows to tangible outcomes - not simply platform usage or feature demonstrations.
- Use consultative, value-based selling: ask insightful questions, uncover business pain and its economic impact, qualify opportunities, understand decision processes, and establish mutually agreed next steps.
- Apply consultative, value aligned practices such as upfront contracts, pain discovery, active listening, thoughtful questioning, and constructive challenge without relying on scripted pitches.
- Explain how pricing, supply/demand, trade, capacity, feedstock costs, and forecasts support procurement, production, supply-chain, pricing, and sales decisions.
- Onboard and enable users on ResourceWise intelligence platforms, including Compass, and drive sustained adoption and customer value.
- Maintain accurate Salesforce account records, stakeholder maps, renewal forecasts, opportunities, activities, and action plans.
- Bring customer feedback to market consultants, product, and leadership teams to improve solutions and customer outcomes.
Qualifications
- 5–10 years of relevant experience in the chemicals, petrochemicals, polymers, specialty chemicals, or closely related commodity markets.
- Demonstrated ownership of customer accounts, commercial relationships, renewals, revenue growth, or strategic account development.
- Hands-on commercial or supply-chain exposure - such as procurement, sourcing, chemical distribution, manufacturing, pricing, product management, or sales - with an understanding of chemical value chains.
- Experience using, interpreting, presenting, or commercially applying market intelligence, commodity pricing, supply/demand analysis, forecasts, or related business intelligence.
- Ability to connect data to customer decisions and quantify business value, including savings, margin protection, risk reduction, and improved pricing or planning.
- Strong consultative discovery, negotiation, stakeholder management, executive communication, and concise presentation skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities across a substantial account portfolio; disciplined CRM usage and follow-through.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, chemical engineering, chemistry, supply chain, or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with chemical market-intelligence providers or tools (such as Tecnon OrbiChem, ICIS, Argus, S&P Global, CMA, or comparable services).
- Experience managing recurring-revenue subscriptions, renewals, customer adoption, and account expansion.
- Familiarity with Sandler or another structured consultative/value-selling methodology.
- Proficiency in Salesforce and comfort with digital intelligence platforms, dashboards, and data-driven customer reviews.
Compensation & Benefits
- Competitive base salary + performance-based commission/bonuses
- Comprehensive benefits package provided (health/medical/dental plans, HSA, 401k match, PTO, holidays, education assistance and more.)
