The Account Manager – Dairy is responsible for driving profitable sales growth within an assigned region and customer portfolio. The role focuses on developing strong customer relationships, identifying new business opportunities, managing sales performance, and coordinating customer activities while working closely with the Area Sales Manager/Commercial Manager and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver sales, revenue, and contribution targets for assigned customers and region, including implementing corrective actions when performance is below expectations.
- Manage and develop relationships with existing customers while proactively identifying and pursuing new business opportunities.
- Provide input to annual sales budgets and monthly/quarterly sales forecasts, ensuring accurate assumptions at product and customer level.
- Analyze market and sales performance using tools such as SAP-BI and Power BI to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Maintain accurate and timely customer, opportunity, project, and activity information in Salesforce.
- Monitor customer satisfaction, investigate complaints, and resolve routine customer issues on-site in collaboration with relevant internal teams.
- Plan and execute customer visits, product trials, seminars, innovation days, and other commercial activities according to agreed priorities.
- Keep management informed of significant customer developments, commercial risks, and emerging opportunities.
Requirements
- Experience in account management, B2B sales, or commercial roles, preferably within the dairy, food ingredients, food manufacturing, or related industry.
- Strong commercial mindset with the ability to manage sales targets, budgets, forecasts, and customer opportunities.
- Good analytical skills and confidence working with sales and market data.
- Experience with CRM and business intelligence tools; Salesforce, SAP-BI, and Power BI experience is an advantage.
- Strong customer relationship, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Proactive, well-organized, and comfortable working independently while collaborating closely with commercial and technical teams.
- Willingness to travel regularly to customers and support on-site activities.
