Job Summary:
Drive growth of valve and automation solutions within the data center and HVAC markets by developing strategic relationships with contractors, distributors, engineers, and OEMs. This consultative sales role requires influencing technical and commercial decision-makers, identifying customer needs, and delivering value-driven solutions through strong cross-functional collaboration. High-visibility role with a defined path to sales leadership.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Call on building automation companies, mechanical contractors, distributors, and consulting engineers.
- Maintain a strong, proactive support presence for skid manufacturers, building automation system contractors throughout the post-order phase by anticipating needs, responding promptly, coordinating resources, and taking ownership of issues through resolution while balancing sales and account management priorities.
- Identify sales growth opportunities with new and existing accounts, develop sales strategies to secure new business.
- Provide responsive local service and support for Bray products throughout the assigned trading area.
- Promote Bray Commercial Division products through sales calls, lunch-and-learn presentations, and other appropriate channels.
- Proactively support customers with product selection, pricing, and project execution before and after an order is awarded, identifying potential issues early and coordinating timely solutions.
- Use Bray’s CRM program to document and manage account relationships, customer needs, follow-up activities, and sales opportunities.
- Monitor new construction activity and opportunities throughout the district, and proactively pursue those opportunities.
- Achieve the sales goals established for the territory.
Qualifications and Core Competencies:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration or a four-year technical degree
- Previous Inside Sales and or Application Engineering Experience highly preferred.
- A minimum of three years of experience in a direct sales role within a business-to-business technical environment. Experience with data centers, HVAC, and/or controls is highly preferred.
- Strong electromechanical aptitude and the ability to diagnose technical issues and develop practical solutions.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including group presentation skills.
- Ability to achieve goals through tenacity, professionalism, strong teamwork, and a proactive commitment to supporting customers and resolving problems.
Working Conditions:
- Frequent travel required (within the designated territory).
- Must have access to reliable transportation and be able to manage travel arrangements.
