The role
- Are you interested in developing strategic Manufacturing accounts, expanding share of wallet, and identifying new business opportunities?
- Would you enjoy working with senior customers, internal specialists, vendors, and partners to shape solutions that drive long-term growth?
Practical Information
Location: Birmingham, Newcastle, Sheffield, London, UK | Work Arrangement: Hybrid | Contract type: Full-time | Reports to: Sales Leader - Corporate | Visa Requirements: Valid visa for UK | Language Requirements: Fluent/professional English, written and verbal
As our new Account Manager, you will focus on growing and developing existing Manufacturing customers, driving revenue and gross-profit growth through long-term strategic relationships. You will identify whitespace, increase share of wallet, and create new revenue streams while driving retention, renewals, and expansion. Working with internal specialists, partners, and vendors, you will deepen customer relationships and position us as a trusted, long-term strategic technology partner.
Key responsibilities
- Own, manage and grow a portfolio of Manufacturing customers, taking accountability for revenue, gross profit, retention, relationship development and long-term account growth.
- Develop and execute strategic account plans based on customer priorities, key stakeholders, current engagements, competitive position and whitespace, identifying short-, medium- and long-term growth opportunities.
- Build deep, multi-level customer relationships with C-suite, IT, procurement, finance, operational and business stakeholders, using your understanding of their manufacturing, commercial and technology priorities to proactively create opportunities and position relevant solutions and services.
- Identify and develop new revenue streams within existing customers through cross-sell, upsell and expansion into new technologies, services, business units and use cases, bringing together vendors and partners to solve complex customer challenges.
- Develop strategic new-logo opportunities while maintaining a high-quality pipeline of account-growth opportunities through networking, referrals, vendor relationships, executive engagement and targeted prospecting to achieve revenue and gross-profit targets.
- Coordinate internal and partner resources around the customer, including sales, technical, commercial, delivery, vendor and partner teams, ensuring a coherent account strategy and compelling value proposition.
- Maintain accurate CRM data and pipeline forecasts, including account and opportunity plans and next actions, providing visibility of committed business and future growth potential while applying Manufacturing market, competitor, customer investment and technology insights to account development and new-customer acquisition.
What we need to see from you
- Solid understanding of the Manufacturing sector, including its commercial, technology and operational challenges, with the credibility to represent the organisation as an industry specialist.
- Proven experience growing strategic customer relationships, protecting existing revenue while driving gross-profit growth through cross-sell, upsell, new revenue streams and selective new-logo acquisition.
- Ability to build trusted relationships at all levels, from operational stakeholders to executive decision-makers, while mobilising internal specialists, delivery teams, partners and leadership around customer objectives.
- Experience developing and executing strategic account plans, identifying customer priorities, whitespace, competitive threats, relationship gaps and opportunities for growth.
- Commercial curiosity and a growth mindset, proactively identifying where future growth will come from rather than relying on existing revenue or established customer demand.
- Experience selling complex technology and service solutions, coordinating multiple stakeholders, internal capabilities and technology vendors across potentially lengthy sales cycles.
- Good understanding of business and financial drivers, with the autonomy and accountability to own account performance, pipeline and commercial outcomes while translating technology investment into measurable customer value.
