The Role
BinSentry is seeking an Accountant who thrives in an agile environment and is eager to learn full-cycle accounting and help build scalable processes. This is a hands-on role with significant growth potential, ideal for someone who is ready to build their skills, grow into ownership of key accounting functions, and make an impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Accounts & Allocations: Support general ledger accounts including deferred revenue, inventory, and COGS.
- Month-End Close: Preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, and assist with variance analysis.
- Audit Support: Prepare supporting schedules and respond to external auditor requests to ensure a smooth and efficient audit process.
- Process Improvement: Document current processes and suggest improvements to accounting processes, systems, and controls to enhance efficiency and accuracy as the company scales.
- Collaboration: Work cross-functionally with other departments, including Operations, Sales, and Development.
- Day-to-Day Accounting: Process vendor bills, and manage customer billing and master data in NetSuite.
What Success Looks Like
In your first year you will:
- Own an assigned set of month-end close tasks, delivering clean, accurate reconciliation on time each month.
- Establish strong working relationships across Operations, Sales, and Development to provide actionable accurate reporting and analysis, and operational alignment.
- Learn and document core accounting processes and suggest improvements as BinSentry grows.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 0-2 years of accounting experience (Co-op and internship experience count).
- Working towards your CPA designation.
- Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, etc.) is a must.
- Ability to demonstrate logic and analytical skills to identify and solve problems.
- Exceptional attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to perform under tight timelines with competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred
- Experience with NetSuite is a plus.
- Co-op or internship experience with month-end close, reconciliations, or audit support.
