Accountant - Cost
Visa Lighting An Oldenburg Group CompanyPRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY:
Responsible for the development, maintenance, and analysis of product cost standards, inventory valuation, and cost of goods sold reporting. Partners with Operations, Engineering, Purchasing, Sales, and Marketing to ensure accurate product costing, profitability analysis, and financial decision support.
MAJOR DUTIES:
- Maintain standard costs for materials, labor, overhead, and subcontracted services.
- Lead the annual standard cost update process.
- Partner with Purchasing, Engineering, and Operations to establish and maintain accurate product costs.
- Support new product development and engineering changes through cost analysis and review of ECNs.
- Analyze complex job costing and provide profitability insights.
- Support Sales and Marketing with pricing, margin analysis, and price book updates.
- Prepare monthly inventory valuations, reconciliations, and related journal entries.
- Monitor and analyze purchase price variances (PPV) and other cost variances.
- Prepare margin, profitability, and cost performance reports for management.
- Administer royalty calculations, reporting, and related accounting entries.
- Prepare month-end cost accounting entries and account reconciliations.
- Assist with audits and ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures.
- Identify opportunities to improve costing processes, reporting, and internal controls.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
