Purpose of the Job
Take ownership of a portfolio of clients while delivering high-quality accounting and financial reporting services across a range of client structures. As an Accountant, you'll play an important role in preparing financial statements, management accounts and accounting deliverables, while working closely with clients, auditors and colleagues to support outstanding client outcomes.
This role offers the opportunity to develop your technical accounting expertise, broaden your exposure to different accounting frameworks and strengthen your review and coaching skills. You'll contribute to the development of junior colleagues through guidance and knowledge sharing while building valuable experience within a collaborative and professional environment.
Main Responsibilities
- Prepare and review financial statements, management accounts and accounting records in accordance with relevant accounting standards.
- Review bookkeeping entries and accounting information that support accurate and high-quality client reporting.
- Perform and review bank, investment and other reconciliations across a portfolio of client entities.
- Prepare and review VAT returns and support a range of client accounting activities.
- Build strong relationships with clients, providing professional support and contributing to an excellent client experience.
- Support the preparation and review of client deliverables across a range of accounting and reporting activities.
- Review accounting work completed by Junior and Assistant Accountants, providing guidance and technical support.
- Partner with auditors and internal stakeholders to support the successful completion of financial statement audits.
- Contribute to accounting projects and initiatives that enhance service delivery and operational effectiveness.
- Support the development of colleagues through coaching, knowledge sharing and collaborative working.
- Provide accounting services to clients across multiple jurisdictions within the Ocorian Group.
- ACCA, ACA or equivalent professional accounting qualification, or relevant accounting experience that provides a similar level of technical expertise.
- Experience within accounting, audit, financial services, Private Equity, Real Estate, Corporate Services or a related professional environment would be beneficial.
Knowledge/Skills/Experience
- Experience preparing and reviewing client accounts, financial statements and management accounts within accounting, audit or financial services.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS, with exposure to UK GAAP or other relevant accounting frameworks considered beneficial.
- Strong technical accounting and financial reporting skills, with a focus on accuracy, quality and client service.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with clients, auditors and colleagues.
