We are hiring an Accounting Manager in Pakistan to own the quality of everything our accounting team produces.
The role
You sit between the Fractional CFO and the accounting team. Every set of client books our accountants maintain passes through your review before it reaches the Fractional CFO. Your job is that nothing wrong gets through, and that the team gets better every month because of how you review.
What that means day to day:
- Review daily the bookkeeping and month-end work of our senior and junior accountants across a portfolio of international clients, catching errors before they matter
- Ensure bookkeeping follows the applicable accounting standards: every transaction supported by an invoice and recorded on the accrual basis
- Ensure the financial reporting of every client is current and ready for the Fractional CFO at all times
- When mistakes happen, work with the team to fix them properly: root cause, correction, and a checklist change so the same error never repeats
- Keep the CEO/Fractional CFO up to date on your work: what you reviewed, what you found, and the process you followed
- Manage AP: payments are prepared under your control and only valid, supported invoices reach a payment run
- Manage AR and collections across the client portfolio
- Implement AI and automation in bookkeeping and accounting workflows
- Coach and develop the team: tutoring sessions, technical guidance, and hands-on mentoring of interns and juniors as they grow
- Work directly with the CEO/CFO on building and refining the firm's operating system in ClickUp: review checklists, close calendars, error logs, and quality processes
This is a working manager role. You review deeply, you teach constantly, and when the situation needs it, you roll up your sleeves and fix things with the team.
What you need
- Qualified accountant (ACCA, CA, or equivalent; finalists with exceptional review experience considered)
- 7+ years of accounting experience, with real experience reviewing other accountants' work
- Proven experience managing people: you have led accountants before, given feedback, and developed juniors
- Strong ownership and accountability: when something is wrong on your watch, you say it, fix it, and make sure it cannot repeat
- Strong hands-on command of Xero and QuickBooks. This is non-negotiable: you will live in both daily
- Strong technical accounting: you can explain why an entry is wrong, not just that it is
- Organised, deadline-driven, and reliable: books close on fixed dates, and you make that happen without being chased
- Fluent English, written and spoken. All clients, files, and communication are in English
- Based in Pakistan
