Show job description

We're looking to add a hands-on Accounting & Tax Manager to our Brazilian team, someone who can strengthen EPAM's local controllership capabilities while helping our Brazilian legal entities navigate a period marked by notable shifts in accounting, tax, and process standards. This role reports to the Country Controller and serves as the key technical point of contact for all accounting and tax-related matters in Brazil, taking charge of statutory accounting, tax duties, audit coordination, vendor management, and tax reform work, while also staying personally involved in detailed accounting, reconciliation, and statutory/tax execution as the situation demands.

Responsibilities

  • Keep the accounting framework and associated internal controls running effectively, ensuring alignment with BR GAAP/CPC, US-GAAP, and EPAM's internal policy standards
  • Manage monthly close activities, trial balance reviews, journal entry postings, and balance sheet reconciliations, teaming up with the Country Controller to address problems swiftly
  • Take personal responsibility for drafting, reviewing, and pushing back on detailed accounting and tax analyses when the situation calls for it, since this position requires real technical ownership rather than pure vendor oversight
  • Contribute to statutory financial statement development, manage statutory and tax audit procedures, and sustain SOX-compliant control measures
  • Ensure deliverables flow smoothly between Global SSC teams, local third-party accounting/tax vendors, auditors, and tax consultants
  • Lead the examination and challenge of Brazil's tax compliance duties for a services-focused business, including IRPJ, CSLL, ISS, PIS, COFINS, and other related ancillary requirements
  • Help move forward Brazil's tax reform readiness plan, addressing CBS/IBS consequences, invoice formatting needs, tax code management, vendor validation, input credit tracking, and audit trail upkeep
  • Monitor and maintain quality benchmarks for outsourced accounting and tax compliance work, staying ready to handle or reconstruct these processes internally if circumstances change later on
  • Assist in reconciling statutory figures with US-GAAP, supporting local management reports, fulfilling FP&A data requests, reconciling payroll-linked accounts, and conducting other controllership reviews
  • Get involved in integration projects, entity simplification efforts, and continuous process improvement work across Brazilian operations

Requirements

  • A degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related area, with Accounting/Ciências Contábeis given particular preference
  • Active CRC registration status that is either mandatory or highly expected
  • Around five or more years of relevant experience in accounting, controllership, and/or tax roles in Brazil, ideally gained within a multinational company, Big 4 firm, outsourcing vendor, or shared-services environment
  • Strong familiarity with BR GAAP/CPC guidelines combined with reasonable understanding of IFRS and/or US-GAAP reporting approaches
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Brazilian tax rules, particularly IRPJ, CSLL, ISS, PIS, and COFINS as they relate to service-sector businesses
  • Hands-on background with Brazil's digital tax and statutory requirements, including ECD, ECF, DCTFWeb, EFD-Contribuições, EFD-Reinf, NFS-e, eSocial-related financial data, CND, and e-CAC follow-up
  • Experience assessing tax calculations, statutory submissions, reconciliations, and audit support documentation generated by external providers
  • Working experience with ERP systems, with a preference for SAP, plus added benefit from familiarity with JDE, Brazilian localization functionality, NFS-e integration, or tax engine tools
  • Advanced Excel capability, dependable reconciliation expertise, and skill in conveying complex accounting/tax concepts in straightforward language
  • Professional-grade English skills to support consistent interaction with global stakeholders, with Spanish regarded as an additional asset

Nice to have

  • Having completed a postgraduate degree, MBA, or specialized certification focused on Tax, Controllership, IFRS, or Finance
  • Previous direct involvement in Brazil's tax reform preparation work, such as CBS/IBS rollout or process restructuring
  • Work history gained within technology, consulting, or professional-services companies
  • Hands-on background managing statutory and tax audits from a legal-entity standpoint
  • Exposure to SOX-related control standards and experience within US-listed multinational company settings

We offer

  • International projects with top brands
  • Work with global teams of highly skilled, diverse peers
  • Healthcare benefits
  • Employee financial programs
  • Paid time off and sick leave
  • Upskilling, reskilling and certification courses
  • Unlimited access to the LinkedIn Learning library and 22,000+ courses
  • Global career opportunities
  • Volunteer and community involvement opportunities
  • EPAM Employee Groups
  • Award-winning culture recognized by Glassdoor, Newsweek and LinkedIn
