Success in this role requires a hands-on, adaptable professional who is comfortable navigating change, taking initiative, and building processes that support the company’s next stage of growth.
Key Responsibilities

- Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll functions, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with GAAP
- Develop, implement, and maintain internal controls and accounting policies/procedures
- Supervise and mentor accounting staff (or serve as an individual contributor initially, with growth into a supervisory role)
- Support activities related to budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Coordinate with external auditors and tax preparers for annual audits and tax filings
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal financial regulations
- Manage day-to-day cash flow reporting and support treasury administration
- Recommend process improvements within existing accounting systems and flag opportunities to evaluate new tools
- Assist with ad hoc financial analysis and special projects as directed by the CFO
Requirements
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including month-end close and financial statement preparation
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and internal controls
- Hands-on experience with QuickBooks and other accounting/ERP software (e.g., NetSuite, Sage, Xero)
- Advanced Excel skills
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred:
- CPA or CPA-track
- Experience in manufacturing, design, or engineering-related industries
- Prior experience in a small-to-mid-sized company or startup environment
- Supervisory or team-lead experience
