From day one at Unobravo, we’ve been on a mission to make mental health support truly accessible to everyone by normalizing therapy, fostering openness, and breaking down the stigma that still surrounds it.
Our success is driven by an exceptional team dedicated to providing high-quality, accessible care, anytime, anywhere. With over 9,500+ qualified therapists and more than 10 million therapy sessions delivered, we’re proud to have made a meaningful difference in countless lives.
We are looking for a Group Accounting Manager to lead the accounting function of Unobravo Italia, managing an in-house team and coordinating with external accounting firms to ensure accurate, timely and compliant accounting across the Group.
The Essentials
Seniority: Senior-Level
Languages: Italian and English
Location: Milan, with willingness to travel periodically to Naples and other company locations.
Salary Range: EUR 60,000 - 75,000 in line with our commitment to transparent and equitable compensation practices.
Reports to: Head of Finance
Your team and scope
You will lead a team of 4 accounting professionals, setting priorities, supporting their professional growth and ensuring the quality and timeliness of their work. This is a hands-on role: alongside team leadership, you will be closely involved in day-to-day accounting operations, from bookkeeping and reconciliations to closings and tax deadlines, stepping in directly whenever needed.
At the same time, you will have the mandate and autonomy to rethink how the accounting function works. We expect you to map current processes, identify inefficiencies and bottlenecks, and redesign workflows, controls and system integrations so the function becomes more efficient, scalable and automated as the Group grows.
What You’ll Do
Team leadership and daily operations: Lead and develop a team of four accountants, while actively overseeing and contributing to day-to-day accounting operations to ensure continuity, accuracy and compliance.
Accounting and closing: Manage the general accounting of Unobravo Italia, with direct responsibility for its accuracy and completeness, and oversee the accounting of the Group’s foreign subsidiaries, working with external accounting firms and local teams to ensure accurate and timely monthly, half-year and year-end closings.
Financial statements and consolidation: Coordinate the preparation of statutory financial statements and Group consolidated financial statements in collaboration with external accounting firms.
Process redesign and systems: Review and redesign end-to-end accounting processes to increase efficiency and scalability, leveraging NetSuite, automation, custom AI-enabled tools and integrations with other company tools
Business partnering: Partner with management and cross-functional teams on business initiatives from their early stages, assessing accounting and tax implications and helping identify practical, compliant solution
Audit: Support the Board of Statutory Auditors, external auditors and other relevant stakeholders throughout audit activities.
Intercompany management: Oversee intercompany transactions, reconciliations and balances, ensuring consistency across Group entities and proper elimination entries upon consolidation.
Tax compliance: Lead the definition of the tax framework for new business services and product lines, assessing their fiscal implications (direct and indirect taxes, VAT treatment, invoicing requirements) and translating them into clear administrative processes. Ensure that each new service is launched with the right compliance structure in place, working closely with Finance, Legal and Business teams to anticipate risks, align with applicable regulations and support scalable growth.
Tax deadlines and filings: Ensure compliance with tax deadlines, statutory filing requirements and other relevant accounting and tax obligations.
✅ What are we looking for
A hands-on leader who is comfortable both managing a team and working directly on day-to-day operations.
A curious, driven person who wants to challenge the status quo, change processes to make them more efficient, and help the team grow by bringing new ideas, stimuli and ways of working.
A strong growth and digital mindset, with excellent proficiency in ERP systems, digital tools and technology-enabled workflows.
A proactive, solution-oriented approach, with the ability to learn new systems independently and quickly identify practical solutions.
A strong interest in innovation and continuous improvement, particularly in leveraging automation, reporting tools and data analysis to streamline accounting processes.
A genuine “tinkerer” attitude towards AI: we are looking for someone who doesn’t just use AI assistants or off-the-shelf AI agents, but actively uses AI (e.g. ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot) to build their own practical tools: for example, scripts or workflows that automate bank and intercompany reconciliations, match invoices and payments, prepare recurring journal entries and accruals, run automated checks on VAT and invoicing data, or flag anomalies and missing entries before the monthly close.
The ability to explain complex accounting and tax topics clearly to non-specialist colleagues.
An open, flexible and collaborative approach, with a strong business partner mindset and the ability to work effectively across teams.
A change-oriented mindset, with the ability to drive process change and bring the team along with it.
✅ Must-have skills
Strong knowledge of Italian accounting standards (OIC).
A degree in Economics or a related field.
Solid experience in accounting roles, with responsibility for the financial closing of Italian and foreign entities.
Strong knowledge of consolidated financial statements and intercompany transactions.
Solid knowledge of Italian tax legislation, particularly VAT.
Experience working with external accounting firms.
Previous experience managing a team of accounting professionals.
A proven track record in redesigning or optimizing accounting processes.
🚀 Power-Ups
Excellent knowledge of NetSuite.
Concrete examples of accounting automations or controls you have built yourself with the help of AI (e.g. using Python, SQL, Excel/Google Sheets scripts, NetSuite saved searches or integrations), which you’d be happy to walk us through during the interview.
Previous experience in an accounting firm or audit firm.
Knowledge of the healthcare sector and its specific accounting and tax/fiscal requirements.
Experience in M&A.
✨ Not everyone checks every box, and that’s okay. If this role inspires you and you’re passionate about making an impact in our mission, we’d love to hear from you.
