  • Oversee accounting close activities, significant journal entries, reconciliations, aged exceptions, and suspense items.
  • Manage general accounting functions, including accounts payable, daily cash management, general ledger reconciliations, fixed assets, and ACH and wire accounting.
  • Design, document, monitor, and enhance accounting and fiscal controls, including segregation of duties, automated controls, and exception management.
  • Evaluate complex transactions, apply GAAP, and develop well-supported recommendations that promote accurate financial reporting and regulatory compliance.
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of the NCUA 5300 Call Report and other required regulatory filings.
  • Support audits and examinations, including coordinating documentation, participating in discussions with auditors and examiners, and tracking findings through resolution.
  • Oversee accounting systems, access controls, implementations, data integrity, and related team training.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, strengthen controls, increase scalability, and effectively use automation.

What We’re Looking For:

  • A minimum of seven years of accounting experience, including at least three years in a leadership role.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong accounting knowledge and the ability to evaluate complex transactions, apply accounting standards, and develop well-supported recommendations.
  • Demonstrated leadership, decision-making, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • A bachelor’s degree and/or demonstrated experience driving measurable business outcomes.
  • An equivalent combination of experience and education that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for the position will be considered.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in accounting.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license.
