The Opportunity
Are you a seasoned accounting leader with a passion for process optimization and operational excellence? We are seeking an Accounting Operations Manager, Major Unit Inventory to lead our inventory accounting team at our corporate headquarters in Chandler, AZ. In this key leadership role, you will oversee the accurate financial tracking, floor plan financing, and valuation of our major unit inventory across all nationwide dealership locations, ensuring robust internal controls and supporting business growth.
What You’ll Own & Achieve:
- Lead Major Unit Accounting: Oversee accounting operations for new and used major unit inventory across the enterprise network.
- Manage Floor Plan Financing: Direct floor plan payoff, audit reconciliations, interest calculations, and lender relationships to optimize cash flow.
- Financial Reporting & Analysis: Ensure accurate month-end closing, inventory valuation, and margin variance reporting.
- Process & Systems Improvement: Evaluate and enhance internal accounting controls, automated workflows, and system integrations.
- Inventory Accuracy & SOX Control Ownership: Establish and maintain stringent SOX-compliant inventory controls, physical cycle count procedures, and valuation reconciliations enterprise-wide.
- Inventory Management Systems Upgrade Leadership: Lead the accounting functional implementation and testing for inventory module enhancements within our enterprise ERP system.
- Dealership Training & Field Audits: Develop and deliver operational inventory training programs for dealership managers and conduct regular compliance and physical inventory audits.
- Team Leadership & Mentorship: Guide, train, and develop a high-performing team of inventory accountants and specialists.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with store general managers, corporate finance, and executive leadership to align operational goals.
- Other duties as assigned
What Brings You to the Team:
- Proven Financial Leadership: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA preferred) with 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
- Inventory & Dealership Expertise: Strong background in inventory accounting, floor plan management, or multi-location dealership operations.
- Technical Aptitude: Advanced proficiency in ERP systems, complex data reconciliation, and financial analytics.
- Strategic Mindset: Demonstrated ability to improve internal controls and streamline complex accounting workflows.
- Effective Communication: Skill in presenting financial concepts and operational insights to senior leadership and field teams.
- Travel & Schedule Flexibility: Ability to travel monthly both locally and nationally, with availability to work an occasional Saturday to support business needs.
Physical & Work Environment
PHYSICAL & ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS
- Work Environment: Hybrid office setup located in Chandler, AZ (Monday–Thursday in-office; Friday remote), workplace includes exposure to an active corporate office and powersports dealership environment, which may include ambient machinery noise, engine revving, and high-energy retail operations .
- Mobility & Activity: Fast-paced office setting requiring prolonged sitting, keyboard and computer/screen usage and frequent telephone communication.
- Physical Effort: Occasional standing, walking, bending, and light lifting/moving of files or other office materials up to 25 lbs.
- Physical Demands: Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer; occasional standing, walking, and bending during site visits and inventory audits.
- Travel Requirements: Ability to travel monthly both locally and nationally to support enterprise dealership operations and field audits.
- Schedule Expectations: Standard full-time business hours with flexibility required to work occasional Saturdays or extended hours to meet business needs and inventory timelines.
