What We Can Achieve Together:


As one of the Accounting Specialists for the Great Plains Division, you will provide centralized accounting support as part of the Division Finance Operations & Enablement Team. You will support accounting operations, reconciliations, financial close activities, compliance requirements, and financial record management across assigned Pods, Business Units (BUs), and Division Priorities (DPs). This includes being responsible for the accuracy, completeness, timeliness, and integrity of assigned accounting activities, records, and accounting deliverables. You will also exercise judgment in interpreting accounting policies, researching transactions, resolving discrepancies, and identifying appropriate actions. Working collaboratively with Finance Specialists, Finance Managers, Finance Directors, Contracts staff, and other Finance Operations & Enablement team members, you will help ensure accurate financial records, strong internal controls, timely financial close processes, and consistent accounting practices across the Division.


Other areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to:


Accounting Operations & Financial Stewardship

  • Perform accounts payable, vendor administration, invoice routing, payment processing, and other routine accounting workflows.
  • Support other accounting activities including journal entries, allocations, reconciliations, account analysis, and financial record maintenance.
  • Ensure accounting activities are completed accurately and in accordance with organizational policies, accounting standards, and internal controls.
  • Maintain financial records, supporting documentation, and audit-ready files.

Compliance, Controls & Financial Data Integrity

  • Maintain the accuracy, integrity, and quality of accounting records, financial data, and supporting documentation.
  • Support audits, compliance reviews, certifications, and internal control activities.
  • Research and resolve accounting issues, reconciliation variances, and transaction discrepancies.
  • Ensure appropriate documentation is maintained to support financial reporting, audit requirements, and compliance obligations.
  • Identify, communicate, and escalate accounting, compliance, and financial control concerns, as appropriate.

Business Partnership & Accounting Support

  • Partner with Finance Specialists, Finance Managers, Finance Directors, Contracts staff, and other stakeholders to support effective financial stewardship and financial management practices.
  • Provide accounting support and guidance regarding accounting processes, financial transactions, reconciliations, documentation requirements, and internal controls.
  • Support implementation of accounting requirements associated with grants, awards, contracts, and other funding arrangements, as applicable.

Division Collaboration & Operational Excellence

  • Collaborate with Finance Operations & Enablement, Contracts, Finance Specialists, Finance Managers, Finance Directors, and other stakeholders to support coordinated delivery of finance services.
  • Support implementation of standardized accounting processes, controls, procedures, and best practices across the Division.
  • Contribute to process improvements, automation initiatives, system enhancements, and change management efforts.
  • Promote consistency, efficiency, and quality in accounting operations and financial management practices.
  • Build productive working relationships that promote collaboration, accountability, and effective stewardship of organizational resources.

This is a remote position located within in the Great Plains Division (Arkansas, Iowa, Minnesota, Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, Oklahoma, and Texas) and strong preference for individuals who are able to support partners in the Central Time zone.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Associate's Degree in Accounting or related field and 2 years' related work experience or equivalent combination.
  • Experience with accounting principles, financial transactions, reconciliations, financial reporting, or financial record management.
  • Experience using accounting, financial management, or enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
  • Experience maintaining financial records, preparing reports, and working with financial data.
  • Experience working with spreadsheets, databases, and financial systems.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Multi-lingual skills and/or multi-cultural experience appreciated.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy in work product.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to establish and manage priorities and meet deadlines.

  • Experience with Workday or other enterprise financial management systems.

Salary Information:


The starting pay range for a candidate selected for this position is generally within the range of $46,000 – 70,000. This range only applies to candidates whose country of employment is the USA. Where a successful candidate’s actual pay will fall within this range will be based on a variety of factors, including, for example, the candidate's location, qualifications, specific skills, and experience. Please note countries outside the USA would have a different pay range in the local currency based on the local labor market, and not tied to USA pay or ranges. Your geographic location will be confirmed during the recruitment.
