Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounting Supervisor to oversee the company’s day-to-day accounting operations and support the accurate and timely preparation of monthly and annual financial statements. This role will be responsible for maintaining the accuracy, organization, and transparency of the company’s financial records while ensuring that accounting processes are completed efficiently and in accordance with established policies and standards.
The Accounting Supervisor will work closely with the Senior Accounting Manager to oversee accounting activities, improve departmental processes, and implement initiatives that enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the Accounting team. The role will also provide guidance and support to accounting staff, help resolve accounting issues, and contribute to key financial and operational decisions.
By ensuring the integrity of financial information and maintaining efficient accounting processes, the Accounting Supervisor will play an important role in providing management with reliable financial insights and supporting the company’s continued growth and long-term success.
The ideal candidate should have previous experience keeping the books and accounting for a property management business remotely. You will also have involvement with other accounting and related tasks such as creating owner statements, project management, building new accounting tools and processes, accounts payable and receivable, and revenue recognition and management. To succeed in this role, it is key to be a self-starter, to have a background in hospitality accounting, be comfortable wearing many hats, and to be enthusiastic about delivering exceptional experiences to our guests, vendors, and property owners.
At Rove you will:
Assist in preparing the monthly/annual balance sheet, income statement and other financial reports according to US GAAP and internal accounting guidelines.
Audit of transactions - both revenue and expenses
Coordinate a review of our accounting with auditors when needed.
Prepare all P&L statements for property owners and manage disbursements
Post and process journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded
Update accounts payable, A/P master data, and perform reconciliations
Update accounts receivable, A/R master data, and perform reconciliations
Ensure proper application of controls in A/P and A/R processes
Assist in assessing current processes in terms of efficiency
Assist with other accounting projects and/or ad hoc projects.
What we look for:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy
Must be a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with a valid PRC license
4-6 years of experience coming from a similar position - experience in the property management industry is a plus
High expertise in Quickbooks Online
Understanding of accounting principles and reporting practices for property management companies
Experience on establishing controls
Fluency in English
Excellent knowledge of MS Office, Excel, Google Sheets, and QBO
A knack for organization, time management, attention to detail, and overseeing multiple work streams at once -flexible hours, willingness to work overtime as needed
Drive and enthusiasm- you like to win, as a team!
Experience in a remote-based working environment, particularly for a US-based company
Strong Technology Skills - Including use of various online platforms (Google Suite, Notion, Breezeway, Slack, CRM, ticketing, Property Management Systems etc.)
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to make data-driven decisions
Creative thinking that challenges assumptions and wants to drive innovation
Compensation:
This role is a full-time contractor position that will have a variable compensation range dependent on the chosen candidate’s relevant experience and place of residency. It includes unlimited Paid Time Off, with management approval as requested and in consideration of business needs. It will have a schedule focused on working US daytime hours with some occasional weekend involvement potentially needed from time to time.
