Show job description
We are looking for an organised and detail-focused Accounts Assistant to join the Finance team at CDL Software. The role is primarily responsible for purchase ledger activities, including supplier invoices, employee expenses, company credit cards, supplier reconciliations and payment runs.

This is a varied Finance role rather than a purely transactional invoice-processing position. Alongside purchase ledger responsibilities, the successful candidate will provide support across cashbook, sales ledger, reconciliations and month-end and year-end activities. The role therefore suits someone who is comfortable managing different tasks, changing priorities and investigating discrepancies.

About CDL
CDL is one of the UK’s leading software development houses, employing over 600 people at its campus in Stockport. It has a consistent history in the high-volume retail insurance sector. CDL has spearheaded developments in the aggregator, web and telematics space, including connected home, enrichment and self-service solutions. As a result, the company’s robust and innovative technologies have enabled its customers to thrive in the highly competitive UK insurance marketplace.

We have built a collaborative and creative culture, leveraging AI-driven solutions to enhance our products, processes and decision-making. We pride ourselves on cultivating an inspiring working environment with our employees at the heart of our company.

In a nutshell we are the market leading software house in our industry, creating the software, websites & apps for the Insurance & Finance sector across the UK. If you were to go on a price comparison website, approximately 65% of the companies on there are our clients!

The Role
You will help ensure that purchase ledger transactions are processed accurately and on time, supplier accounts are maintained correctly, and key Finance controls are completed.

Purchase ledger will be your principal area of responsibility, but you will also support other Finance activities when required. You will need to take ownership of your workload, follow up outstanding items and work to deadlines, particularly around payment runs and month-end.

The Finance team is currently transitioning to Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance, so the role will involve learning new systems and adapting to evolving Finance processes.

Position in our Organisation
Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will work closely with colleagues across the business and communicate professionally with suppliers and internal stakeholders, including senior managers and directors.
