Introduction
Zest4 is a channel-focused wholesale provider of Unified Communications solutions (bringing calls, messaging and video meetings together in one place) for resellers across the UK. Founded in 2013 and based in Cheshire, we help our partners embrace new communications technology solutions.
We’re looking for an Accounts Assistant to join our Finance team in Wilmslow. Reporting to the Management Accountant, you’ll help keep our ledgers accurate and up to date, supporting the monthly management accounts, balance sheet reconciliations (including between group companies) and the VAT (Value Added Tax) return. Accuracy, good organisation and a friendly approach with suppliers are key. In return, you’ll get excellent training and development, with the full support of the Zest4 management team.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain the supplier ledger, including setting up new suppliers, processing invoices and purchase orders, and reconciling supplier statements
- Help prepare supplier, expenses, partner and customer refund payment runs, and send remittance advices
- Process expenses and reconcile company credit card postings
- Keep in touch with suppliers’ accounts teams
- Maintain the cashbook, including daily bank entries, bank reconciliations and allocating customer payments
- Support the Management Accountant with balance sheet reconciliations, journals and control reports
- Make sure policies, procedures and controls are followed, so our data stays accurate and we reduce margin leakage to support year-on-year EBITDA (earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation) growth
- Support the wider Finance team to deliver key outputs accurately and on time, and help with general administration across the business
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Essential
- At least 2 years’ experience in a finance role
- Experience of accounting systems or ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) software
- A good understanding of accounts payable processes and typical purchase ledger tasks
- Confidence running control reports, such as aged creditors and debtors, or cashbook reconciliations
- Good with numbers, with strong organisation and the ability to meet deadlines
- Excellent communication skills and a positive approach to managing your workload
- Microsoft Office skills, including Excel
Desirable
- Experience in the telecommunications industry
- A foundation level accounting qualification
- Experience using Sage or Microsoft Dynamics
Benefits
Benefits include private medical and life assurance, discounted staff tariffs, a cycle to work scheme, 22 days’ holiday (rising by one day after each of your first two years) plus your birthday off, and a regular social calendar with charity and volunteering opportunities.
