Position Summary

As an Accounts Payable Specialist, you’ll help keep Accounting operations accurate and on schedule by supporting end-to-end Accounts Payable processing and select month-end close activities. This entry-level role exists to ensure invoices, expense reports, and related records are handled with strong internal control and clear documentation.

Key responsibilities include processing and validating vendor invoices and employee/volunteer expense reports; maintaining AP files for accuracy and compliance; issuing payments and preserving transaction history; responding to vendor inquiries on invoice and payment status; reconciling vendor statements and AP ledgers and compiling information for 1099-Misc; partnering with the Accounting team on audit and administrative finance requests; completing assigned bank, general ledger, and operational reconciliations and researching variances; and preparing journal entries, adjustments, and accruals.

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required (two-year degree in accounting/finance/business preferred)
- 2+ years Accounts Payable/bookkeeping/accounting support preferred; financial institution experience a plus
- Excel proficiency; experience with accounting/AP software
- Working knowledge of reconciliations and journal entries; high accuracy and organization
- Ability to work hybrid from San Dimas, CA, Mon–Fri, 7:30am–5:30pm (flexible 40 hours/week)

A Day in the Role

You may start by reviewing the Accounts Payable pipeline, confirming priorities with the Assistant Controller, and setting a clean plan for focused work blocks. Throughout the day, you’ll balance detailed review time with responsive communication—tracking where items sit in the process and keeping notes and supporting records easy to follow.

As deadlines approach, you’ll shift attention toward close readiness in Accounting: organizing backup, flagging exceptions, and ensuring open items are clearly documented for review. You’ll also coordinate with teammates as audit questions or administrative finance requests come in, keeping updates timely and precise. Before signing off, you’ll do a final accuracy sweep so Accounts Payable remains predictable, compliant, and ready for the next cycle.

Your Rewards

Medical, Dental, and Vision coverage; 401(k); Life Insurance; Flexible Spending Account (FSA); Competitive Pay; Paid Time Off (PTO); an equipment stipend to support your hybrid setup; Paid Serve Days, and Employee Events.
