Edelman is looking for an Accounts Payable Supervisor to join our Finance Shared Services team in Chicago. This is an opportunity to lead day-to-day Accounts Payable operations across North America, including Canada, while supporting a team of finance professionals across the US and Brazil.

In this role, you'll oversee AP processes in Workday, help resolve operational challenges, and ensure accurate and timely payments while maintaining strong financial controls. You'll also collaborate with regional and global Finance teams to improve processes and deliver high-quality service to internal stakeholders and suppliers.

Who You Are

You're a detail-oriented, solutions-focused finance professional who enjoys leading teams, solving problems, and improving processes. You bring strong Accounts Payable knowledge, communicate effectively across teams, and can balance day-to-day operations with broader process improvements in a collaborative, international environment.

What You'll Do

  • Supervise and support the Accounts Payable team, providing day-to-day guidance and helping resolve operational challenges.
  • Oversee end-to-end AP processes in Workday, including supplier invoices, credit notes, purchase orders, approvals, payments, and settlements.
  • Manage invoice exceptions, payment discrepancies, supplier reconciliations, and outstanding balances to ensure timely resolution.
  • Coordinate check runs, ACH payments, approval workflows, and month-end close activities while maintaining strong financial controls.
  • Partner with Procurement, Tax, Treasury, Finance, and regional FSS teams to resolve issues and support business operations.
  • Monitor AP transactions, supplier accounts, and aging reports to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely processing.
  • Identify opportunities to improve, standardize, and document AP processes and workflows.
  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment, supporting continuous learning and effective communication across regions.

Basic Qualifications

  • At least 4- 5 years of professional experience in Accounts Payable or a related finance function.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a Finance Shared Services environment, including supervising or coordinating Accounts Payable teams.
  • Hands-on experience with Workday Financial Management or similar ERP systems, particularly supplier invoices, purchase orders, approvals, payments, and reporting.
  • Experience reconciling supplier statements and resolving invoice, payment, and account discrepancies.
  • Familiarity with multi-currency and intercompany transactions across multiple companies or countries.
  • Strong Excel skills for reconciliations, analysis, tracking, and reporting.
  • Knowledge of Accounts Payable controls, approval workflows, and financial compliance requirements.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and collaborate across teams.

Compensation: $68,000–$90,000 USD annually.
