Accounts Payable Supervisor / Manager
Full-time, fully remote (overlap with US Pacific hours required) | Reports to: Accounting Manager
About the company
This is a fast-growing consumer products company that builds, launches and scales direct-to-consumer brands across pest control, functional snacks and personal care. Our brands sell through our own funnels, Amazon and retail, supported by a data-driven marketing engine. The finance team supports multiple legal entities and is building a modern, tech-enabled function where Excel fluency and the daily use of AI, primarily Claude, are simply how the work gets done.
The Role
The Accounts Payable Supervisor / Manager owns the end-to-end accounts payable function across all entities and leads a team of two to four A/P Specialists. You will run the full procure-to-pay cycle in Ramp, ensure vendors and inventory suppliers are paid accurately and on time, protect cash through disciplined payment scheduling, and deliver a clean, reconciled A/P subledger for every entity at each
month-end close. This is a hands-on leadership role for a seasoned A/P professional who is equally comfortable coaching a team, tightening a process and diving into an aging report.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full A/P cycle for all entities: invoice intake, coding, 2- and 3-way matching against purchase orders and Cin7 receipts, approvals, payment runs (ACH, wire, card and check) and vendor statement reconciliation.
- Lead, schedule, train and develop a team of 2-4 A/P Specialists, set clear performance targets, review their work and cover critical tasks during absences.
- Own the weekly payment proposal by entity, prioritizing cash needs, early-pay discounts and vendor terms, and present it to the Accounting Manager for approval.
- Maintain A/P aging by entity, drive down past-due balances, resolve disputes and short-pays, and report A/P metrics (DPO, aging, invoice cycle time, exceptions) monthly.
- Deliver the month-end A/P close for every entity: accruals for unbilled goods and services, subledger-to-GL reconciliation in QuickBooks, intercompany payables and cut-off review.
- Administer Ramp for A/P and corporate cards: vendor onboarding, W-9 and banking verification, approval workflows, receipt compliance and the sync to QuickBooks.
- Manage vendor master data and controls, including segregation of duties, duplicate-payment prevention, fraud and banking-change verification, annual 1099 filing and audit support.
- Continuously improve A/P processes, documentation and automation, using Excel and AI tools such as Claude to reduce manual effort and shorten close.
- Partner with Operations, Supply Chain, Marketing and brand leads on PO discipline, spend visibility and vendor relationships.
What We Offer
A high-impact seat on a growing finance team, direct exposure to senior leadership, modern systems (QuickBooks, Ramp, Cin7, Deel) and
the autonomy to build the A/P function the right way across every eJam entity.
Skills
- 5+ years of progressive accounts payable experience with at least 2 years supervising or managing an A/P team, ideally in consumer products, e-commerce or a multi-entity environment.
- Proven ability to run A/P across multiple legal entities, including intercompany payables and consolidated reporting.
- Hands-on experience with A/P automation and spend management platforms (Ramp, Bill.com, Tipalti or similar) and cloud accounting systems, QuickBooks Online strongly preferred.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (lookups, pivot tables, reconciliations, aging analysis) and active use of AI tools, primarily Claude, in day-to-day work.
- Strong understanding of accrual accounting, 3-way match, inventory purchasing and month-end close; familiarity with Cin7 or another inventory system is a plus.
- Clear written and verbal English, a service mindset toward vendors and internal partners, and the judgment to escalate the right issues at the right time.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Fully remote role, able to work a consistent schedule that overlaps with US Pacific business hours.
