Offered on a three-year fixed-term contract, these roles provide the opportunity to make a lasting impact, and to develop the skills, connections and knowledge that will shape the rest of your career – wherever that may take you
The AR Collections Tower Lead provides leadership to the AR Collections tower, including the AR Collection Team Lead and Senior Collections Specialists, and is accountable for the delivery of results in line with company cash flow and working capital targets. They own the tower’s resource allocation, governance, and performance framework, ensuring the correct level of business continuity at all times. They act as the second point of GBS escalation, review and approve key period-end postings, and provide senior oversight of aged debt and collections risk. The AR Collections Tower Lead partners closely with the Head of Finance Delivery, regional teams and leads, other Financial Service Centres (FSCs), and commercial stakeholders to align collections strategy with business priorities. They lead the tower’s performance reporting, policies and procedures, and continuous improvement agenda, and play an active role in developing leadership capability within the team.
What you will be doing:
- Tower Leadership & Operational Delivery - Own the end-to-end delivery of the AR Collections tower, ensuring collections, cash application, dispute management, and period-end activities are completed accurately and on time. Set tower priorities and allocate resources effectively, including oversight of customer account assignment for new accounts and account movements. Review and approve FI/CO postings during the period-end close, ensuring they are accurate, fully supported, and compliant with policy.
- Performance Management & Reporting - Utilise multiple reports to monitor team and GBS process status and effectiveness, and devise action plans to address performance gaps. Oversee the completion of KPI data and drive its automation, ensuring accurate and timely performance reporting. Create internal and external reports for leadership and stakeholders as required, handing over ongoing maintenance to the team.
- Stakeholder Management - Work with and build strong relationships with regional teams and leads through regular and ad-hoc meetings. Act as the senior point of contact for the Head of Finance Delivery, regional finance leadership, and commercial stakeholders on collections performance and risk. Hold periodic strategic debt reviews with stakeholders, with a view to pre-empting requirements.
- Risk, Compliance & Controls - Own the AR Collections ASL, coordinating reviews and updates with approvers three times per year. Uphold, review, and create collections policies, procedures, and forms, including updates shared with other FSCs. Ensure that controls are operated as designed, with strong governance around all controls as per RCMs (Risk Control Matrix). Ensure timely and accurate closure of audit findings, with immediate remediation of any control failures. Uphold current legislative and legal requirements for document/transaction retention and ensure compliance with IFRS 9.
- Team Management: - Lead, coach, and develop the AR Collection Team Lead and Senior Collections Specialists, holding regular, structured, development-focused one-on-ones. Set clear objectives and provide timely and adequate feedback on performance, utilising the data-driven tools available. Identify talent, build succession, and support the development of capability across the tower. Foster an engaged, inclusive, and safe working environment.
Preferred requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Professional accounting qualification (e.g. ACCA, CIMA) or equivalent - desirable.
- 12+ years of experience in a GBS or BPO, including significant experience leading AR / order-to-cash teams.
- Expert knowledge of end-to-end order-to-cash processes, related accounting, and IFRS 9.
- Proven track record of leading team leads and multi-level teams, and driving performance against KPIs and cash targets.
- Senior stakeholder management experience across regions and functions.
- Experience in resource planning, workflow management, and operating model design.
- Experience with ERP systems: SAP is a must; experience with ServiceNow, BlackLine, and Business Warehouse (BW) an advantage.
