Responsible for leading, supervising and developing the activities of the accounts receivable functions, including overseeing, and participating in all work activities, producing financial reports, and performing a variety of technical as well as managerial tasks relative to the department.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Participates and makes recommendations in the selection, training, development, and compensation management of Accounts Receivable employees
  • Manages, motivates, and develops associates to become functional and effective members of the team and the organization through performance management
  • Develops, reviews, and monitors performance goals within each department and is accountable for meeting said goals
  • Facilitates interaction within the departments assigned as well as fosters communication throughout the organization.
  • Prepares and conducts Employee Performance Reviews and Corrective Action Plans. Assists in the development of employee goals and improvements
  • Monitor and perform Quality Assurance checks with customers
  • Supervises monitors and develops A/R associates that are collecting, reconciling, and analyzing various accounts according to departmental goals and objectives
  • Assists in response to general ledger balance sheet and expense questions from various end users of financial information
  • Supports Staff Accountant to improve the presentation of the various account analyses and reconciliations based on principles of GAAP. Including but not limited to bank reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations, financial statement preparation, and financial analysis
  • Identify and recommend methods to improve workflows, cut labor costs and improve cash flows
  • Facilitate and execute the introduction of new technology to assist various accounting functions and to support company expansion
  • Develop, implement, and revise policies and procedures to define departmental standards and streamline workflows
  • Develop and revise Training Manuals for each accounting function as needed

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

REQUIRED

  • AA or AS in Accounting or Business Administration with an emphasis in accounting from an accredited university. Three (3) years of accounting-related experience with a minimum of five (5) years of supervisory experience. BA or BS degree preferred
  • Proficient knowledge of accounting theories
  • High level of proficiency with Excel and Word. Knowledge of Great Plains is helpful but not required
  • Able to interact with multiple levels of employees
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills

PREFERRED

  • Bachelor’s Degree

WORKING CONDITIONS/EQUIPMENT USE

  • Work is performed indoors in a typical office environment - not substantially exposed to adverse environmental condition
  • Must be able to lift up to fifteen (15) pounds
  • Frequent use of office machines to include telephone, computer, and printer
