Key Responsibilities Preparing statutory accounts for sole traders, partnerships, LLPs and limited companies Preparing corporation tax computations and CT600 returns Producing management accounts for a range of clients Preparing and reviewing VAT returns Assisting with HMRC enquiries and correspondence Maintaining statutory records and company registers Preparing profit and loss accounts, balance sheets and trial balances Drafting reports on financial statements, business performance, systems and internal controls Building strong relationships with clients and acting as a trusted point of contact Working closely with managers and keeping them informed of client developments and any technical matters Skills, Knowledge & Expertise We're looking for someone who enjoys working with clients, has a proactive approach and is keen to continue building their career in accountancy. You'll ideally have: Experience working in an accountancy practice in a similar role Be studying towards, or keen to continue studying, AAT, ACA or ACCA Strong technical accounting knowledge and attention to detail Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines Strong communication and relationship-building skills A proactive mindset with a willingness to learn and develop Experience using cloud accounting software such as Caseware, Inflo, Xero, Sage or QuickBooks (desirable) Prior experience in audit is desirable Belong @ Sumer At Sumer, we know everyone’s journey is different.
