At Sorren Philippines, Inc., we exist to improve the lives of our people, our clients and our communities by helping them thrive. Our culture stems from our camaraderie, community interests and ongoing professional development. We are constantly looking for ways to challenge the status quo and welcome those with a pioneering mindset to help shape our company’s future.

The Acquisition Integration Specialist is the technical backbone of Sorren's M&A integration effort and a trusted partner to the Director of Finance, M&A. The role converts newly acquired firms into accurate, controlled, and scalable finance operations. It supports the full post-close accounting lifecycle, including opening balance sheets, purchase accounting workpapers, transitional monthly reporting, working capital true-ups, legacy-system reconciliations, and conversion to Sorren's core finance platforms.

This is a hands-on individual contributor role for someone who can move comfortably between technical accounting, detailed data work, systems implementation, and stakeholder coordination. The specialist is expected to drive assigned workstreams from intake through documented handoff, surface risks early, maintain audit-ready support, and build repeatable processes that increase Sorren's acquisition capacity.

Sorren is highly acquisitive and constantly adding entities, systems, and locations. Until each acquisition is fully live on our standard platforms, this role acts as the liaison between the acquired company's legacy systems and Sorren's finance function — keeping the books accurate, timely, and audit-ready throughout the transition.

Role Outcomes

  • New acquisitions have complete, supportable opening balances and purchase accounting workpapers.
  • Transitional financial results are closed, reconciled, and delivered on schedule while legacy systems remain in use.
  • Converted balances and activity tie back to source systems, with exceptions documented and resolved.
  • Working capital, cash, intercompany, WIP, AR, revenue, AP, payroll-related, and equity balances are properly supported through integration.
  • Each acquisition leaves behind a clear audit trail, current status, documented decisions, and a reusable integration playbook.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary day-to-day support to the Director of Finance, M&A, taking ownership of the defined acquisition accounting and finance-integration workstreams currently concentrated at the director level.
  • Prepare opening balance sheets (OBS), including fair value adjustments and purchase price allocation (PPA), and maintain the supporting workpapers and audit trail.
  • Support purchase price accounting, including goodwill and intangible asset recognition, net working capital (NWC) true-ups, and post-close purchase accounting entries under US GAAP (ASC 805), including reconciliation to contractual definitions, closing schedules, AR, WIP, deferred revenue, cash, indebtedness, and other acquired liabilities.
  • Prepare and support IRS Form 8594 asset acquisition allocations in coordination with the tax team, including tie-out to transaction documents and documentation of buyer and seller allocation alignment.
  • Dive into acquired companies' disparate billing, cash, AP, and GL platforms to compile complete, accurate monthly financial results during the transition period, and prepare the net-change, stub-period, conversion, and close entries needed to report that activity in Sage Intacct.
  • Port acquired-entity financials into Sage Intacct — build and maintain chart-of-accounts and dimension mappings; perform data extraction, cleanup, transformation, upload preparation, validation, and post-conversion reconciliation.
  • Prepare stub-period financials and assist with close activities for the partial period between acquisition close and full system conversion.
  • Verify cash reconciliations across multiple legacy bank and payment platforms, resolving discrepancies to root cause.
  • Manage highly complex intercompany due to / due from (DT/DF) accounts across multiple entities, including reconciliation, settlement, and consolidation/elimination support.
  • Act as the liaison between acquired-company systems and Sorren's finance team until each acquisition is fully migrated to the core tech stack.
  • Support ERP conversions end to end — data extraction, cleanup, mapping, validation, and reconciliation of converted balances back to source.
  • Assist with consolidations and intercompany eliminations across a growing multi-entity structure.
  • Prepare audit-ready memos, schedules, and reconciliations, and support internal and external audit requests related to acquisitions, opening balances, and transitional accounting.
  • Create and improve SOPs, checklists, templates, controls, and training materials; use automation and AI-enabled tools to reduce manual effort while preserving speed, review, accuracy, and scalability.
  • Take full ownership of issues — investigate exceptions to root cause, document the conclusion and resolution, and escalate timely when an issue requires judgment, authority, cross-functional intervention, or a change in scope.

Scope Boundaries and Decision Rights

  • The specialist owns preparation, coordination, reconciliation, documentation, and follow-through for assigned workstreams. Final approval of significant accounting judgments, purchase accounting conclusions, contractual interpretations, and material journal entries remains with appropriate finance leadership.
  • The role coordinates across functions but does not replace the process owners for Treasury, Tax, Payroll, IT, HR, Accounts Payable, or acquired-firm operations.
  • The specialist is expected to recommend solutions and resolve routine issues independently, while escalating material, ambiguous, or commercially sensitive matters with a concise statement of facts, options, and recommendation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; CPA, CA, or CMA strongly preferred.
  • 5+ years of direct acquisition / M&A accounting experience, including hands-on opening balance sheet preparation and purchase price accounting (PPA).
  • Sage Intacct experience strongly preferred.
  • Ability to quickly learn and work across multiple legacy billing, cash, AP, and GL systems.
  • Strong ERP conversion / system integration experience, including chart of accounts mapping and migrating acquired entities onto a new platform.
  • Multi-entity accounting experience is a must, including intercompany (DT/DF) accounting and reconciliations.
  • Experience preparing or supporting net working capital true-ups, closing statements, or other post-close purchase accounting deliverables strongly preferred.
  • Direct experience with IRS Form 8594 asset acquisition statements.
  • Strong US GAAP knowledge, particularly business combinations (ASC 805) and consolidations.
  • Proven ability to compile reliable monthly financials from messy, incomplete, or unfamiliar source systems and produce clean, reviewed results without losing the audit trail.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including large-data reconciliation, lookups, pivot tables, and structured workpapers.
  • Power Query, SQL, Power BI, scripting, or workflow-automation experience is a plus (not required).
  • Experience supporting internal and external audits.
  • Demonstrated project discipline across multiple simultaneous acquisitions, with the ability to prioritize critical-path items, track dependencies, and meet close and conversion deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently across time zones with defined overlap for US business hours, and reliable escalation when deadlines, data quality, or judgment matters are at risk.
  • High attention to detail, sound professional judgment, discretion with confidential information, and ownership of quality control before handoff.
