This full-time position reports directly to the Director & Actuary, ERM & Planning. It may be based in Topeka or Overland Park, Kansas. Security Benefit associates work in a hybrid environment with both remote and on-site work.

- Manage assigned multi-year projection and stress-testing workstreams with limited oversight, maintain progress against established timelines, and communicate status and risks to the Director & Actuary.
- Perform financial projections, stress testing, and capital adequacy analyses to evaluate solvency, earnings, and risk outcomes.
- Perform asset-liability management analyses by incorporating asset projections, reinvestment strategies, and investment assumptions into enterprise financial projections.
- Prepare and validate economic scenarios, model inputs, actuarial assumptions, model point files, and actuarial tables; evaluate the effects of market, interest rate, credit, and policyholder behavior risks on financial results, capital adequacy, and RBC metrics.
- Test Prophet model changes, investigate run errors and unexpected results, complete reconciliations and attribution analyses, and document findings and resolutions.
- Produce actuarial projection outputs for the annual ORSA filings for SBL and the offshore reinsurer and deliver results to the Senior ERM Analyst on schedule for report integration.
- Prepare clear summaries of model results, key drivers, and open issues for review by the Director & Actuary before materials are shared with the CRO or ERM Committee.
- Coordinate with Finance, Investments, Legal, and other partners to obtain accurate inputs and align on planning assumptions; escalate material modeling issues, timeline risks, or assumption conflicts promptly.
- Improve modeling efficiency through automation and process enhancements, and maintain clear model documentation supporting team continuity, knowledge transfer, and audit readiness.
- Provide technical support and peer review to less experienced team members as requested.

- 3+ years of actuarial experience, preferably in financial modeling, financial projections, asset-liability management, valuation, or a related actuarial function.
- Strong hands-on Prophet experience, including model execution, troubleshooting, testing, validation, and analysis of projection results.
- Ability to manage assigned modeling work with limited oversight, meet deadlines, and communicate progress and issues clearly.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical communication skills.
- Preferred: Experience with ORSA, CISSA, stress testing, capital planning, or enterprise risk management.
- Preferred: Knowledge of life insurance and annuity products, including fixed and indexed annuities.
