Mason School of Business at William & Mary is recruiting a pool of Adjunct Faculty (Section Leads) to lead one or more 7.5-week asynchronous course sections within the Online Master of Science in Marketing and Online MBA programs. Under the supervision of the Faculty Lead, Section Leads facilitate their assigned course section(s) by posting course announcements, engaging in discussion boards, offering weekly office hours, responding to student inquiries, monitoring student progress, grading student assignments, and providing students with substantive, timely feedback. Under the supervision of the Faculty Lead, Section Leads facilitate their assigned course section(s) by posting course announcements, engaging in discussion boards, offering weekly office hours, responding to student inquiries, monitoring student progress, grading student assignments, and providing students with substantive, timely feedback. Section Leads are provided with professional learning opportunities and are invited to attend on-campus events. Position duties include: Master’s degree in marketing or a closely related field, or an MBA with a concentration in marketing. Significant expertise and relevant professional and/or instructional experience in marketing, including foundations, analytics, strategy, product development, digital content, campaign management, and applied practice. Review course syllabus, content, activities, and assignments prior to the term start date. Adhere to the course design, instructional and grading guidelines, and due dates. Post a minimum of two weekly announcements relevant to the course content and learning activities. Respond to student inquiries within 24 hours. Provide students with timely, personalized, and substantive feedback on graded assignment submissions. Grade assignments and exams in a timely manner based on the instructions/rubrics provided by the Faculty Lead (48 – 72 hours). Monitor and participate in weekly discussion boards. Offer virtual office hours (drop-in or by appointment) totaling at least one hour per week for individual or group consultation and communicate this information through announcements and the course calendar. Monitor student progress and notify the Faculty Lead when a student is unresponsive or at risk of failing. Meet weekly with the Faculty Lead during regularly scheduled calls throughout the course. Submit final grades to the Faculty Lead according to William & Mary and Mason School grading policies and the Online Programs calendar. Submit Section Lead end-of-semester reflection form and attend debriefing meetings as applicable. Section Leads typically spend 15 to 20 hours per week on the duties listed above. Required Qualifications: Please make sure your cover letter and resume clearly indicate how you meet the following required qualifications: Master’s degree in business/data analytics, computer science, industrial engineering, information systems, information technology, operations management, operations research, or a closely related field. Significant expertise and relevant professional and/or instructional experience in business/data analytics, computer science, industrial engineering, information systems, information technology, operations management, operations research, or a closely related field. Experience providing instruction to adult learners in an academic or corporate setting. Demonstrated excellence in communicating and collaborating in digital environments. Demonstrated excellence teaching adult learners in a professional degree program. Experience providing online instruction. Enthusiasm for delivering education in an online mode. Proficiency using video conferencing technologies and web-based collaboration platforms. Experience using Canvas or a similar learning management system.
