The College is dedicated to cultivating leaders who serve and inspire through integrity, creativity, and purpose.

Position Overview:

The Education Department at Bethany College seeks a dedicated, dynamic educator for an adjunct instructor position to teach ED327: Teaching Mathematics in the PreK–Middle Level Classroom during the Spring 2027 (SP27) semester. This undergraduate methods course is a required core requirement for Elementary Education majors, typically taken during their junior year.

ED327 Course Description:
A course for pre-service teachers designed to develop competencies in:

  1. Knowledge of developmentally appropriate standards-based curricula,
  2. Pedagogy to empower all students and direct them toward mathematical understanding, and
  3. Mathematical theory as it applies to current reform efforts.

Modality & Scheduling Flexibility:
Recognizing that many qualified adjunct candidates are active, full-time classroom teachers or educational practitioners, this position is offered primarily as an evening course to accommodate professional work schedules, with flexibility in meeting times. While on-campus instruction in Lindsborg is preferred, a hybrid delivery model (combining structured on-campus sessions with online components) is fully acceptable. Please note: Fully remote instruction is not being considered for this position at this time.

An established syllabus is available to provide a strong structural foundation; however, the instructor is enthusiastically encouraged to bring their own professional expertise, classroom experiences, and instructional creativity to make the course their own.
