Adjunct Pool, Online Education Fully Remote • Emory, VA 24327 Apply Overview Position Type Adjunct Faculty Education Level Graduate Degree Category Education Apply Description Adjunct Faculty — Online, Asynchronous Emory & Henry University | School of Online Learning & Professional Studies Part-time | Per-course | Non-tenure track | Fully remote | Continuous posting Emory & Henry University is building a standing pool of qualified adjunct faculty to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in our fully online, asynchronous programs. Applications are accepted year-round and reviewed as teaching needs arise. Placement in the pool does not guarantee a teaching assignment. About the Role Courses are delivered asynchronously in Moodle using a Master Course Model . The curriculum, assignments, assessments, rubrics, schedule, and required instructor interaction are developed in advance. Adjunct faculty focus on teaching and student engagement rather than course development. Responsibilities include: Facilitate discussions and provide substantive instructor interaction. Evaluate student work using established rubrics. Monitor student participation and academic progress. Provide timely feedback and respond to student questions. Conduct weekly outreach to students who meet established engagement or academic-alert criteria. Provide approximately five instructor-initiated touchpoints per week, as outlined in the course. Complete Emory & Henry's Teaching Online training and digital badge requirements before teaching for the first time. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications Undergraduate courses Master's degree in the teaching discipline, or Master's degree in a related field with at least 18 graduate semester hours in the teaching discipline. Graduate courses Terminal degree in the teaching discipline, or Terminal degree in a related field with at least 18 graduate semester hours in the teaching discipline. Additionally, applicants must have: At least four academic terms of asynchronous online teaching through an LMS such as Moodle or Canvas. Verified online teaching training through Quality Matters (QM), Online Learning Consortium (OLC), ACUE, or a comparable recognized program , completed within the past three years. Student course evaluations from four semesters of online teaching. Authorization to work in the United States. Emory & Henry does not sponsor H-1B or J-1 visas for adjunct positions. Reliable high-speed internet and technology capable of supporting online instruction, including video recording, webcam, microphone, and student communication. All degrees must be from appropriately accredited institutions or recognized international equivalents. Official transcripts are required before a teaching contract is issued. Compensation Adjunct faculty are compensated per course , with rates based on course level and credit hours. Fully enrolled courses are approximately $1,000 per credit hour .
