JOB TITLE: Admissions Counselor PRIORITY DEADLINE: September 27, 2026 CLASSIFICATION: Full-time, Exempt COMPENSATI ON: Starting Salary $38,000 DIVISION: Enrollment Management DEPARTMENT: Admissions and Marketing REPORTS TO : Director of Admissions and Strategic Communications SUPERVISES: Not Applicable MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Associate degree Proficiency in Microsoft Suite programs PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree One year’s experience in college admissions Experience with database use and customer relationship management systems POSITION SUMMARY: The Admissions Counselor serves as a vital ambassador of the College, responsible for engaging and guiding prospective students and their families through the admissions process. With a strong focus on accessibility and student success, this role engages with diverse populations—including first-generation students, adult learners, and transfer students—to promote awareness of academic programs, career pathways, and support services. The Admissions Counselor assists applicants from initial inquiry through application acceptance. The ideal candidate is a compassionate communicator, organized multitasker, and committed advocate for a welcoming, affordable, and high-quality education. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Reviews prospective student applications, workforce development pre-registrations, and supporting documents to ensure a complete and eligible application for submission and consideration Engages prospective students timely through direct mail, telephone, and digital channels, providing knowledgeable and friendly support throughout the admissions process. Learns and adopts new technologies, software, and programs quickly while remaining flexible and adaptable to evolving processes. Works collaboratively with their director and other counselors to review applicants, move applicants through the admissions process, and send out admissions offers Provides recommendation for process optimization throughout the admissions process Stays up to date on fraudulent application procedures, ensuring attention to detail in review and evaluation Maintains accurate documentation and records of students’ progress toward application submissions and next steps in the admissions process Contributes to the planning and execution of recruitment campaigns, events, and yield activities designed to increase enrollment and student engagement Stays current on institutional offerings, pathways, and transfer agreements designed to increase enrollment and student engagement Supports admissions and recruiting events like college fairs and middle school/high school activities ADDITIONAL ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS: Valid Driver’s License, proof of auto insurance and consistent access to a vehicle CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to obtain the following clearances and training: PA Child Abuse History Clearance Pennsylvania Access To Criminal History Record Check Federal Criminal History Background Check Training Certificate - Mandated and Permissive Reporting in Pennsylvania PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The physical and mental demands described are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Occasional ascending or descending of stairs, moving about workspaces to accomplish tasks Constant sitting and standing for prolonged periods, repetitive motion of wrists, hands, and/or fingers Occasional movement of object 20-50 pounds WORKING CONDITIONS/WORK SCHEDULE: Office Location: Hybrid - Remote and Warren Administrative Office. For more information visit our website: NPRC.edu Office assignment contingent upon business need Work hours: 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Thursday, and 8:30 am to 4:30 pm Friday.
