HARFORD, CATONSVILLE, DUNDALK, MD Must travel to all Key Point Health Clinic Locations www.keypoint.org Schedule: Monday - Friday: 9:30AM-6:00PM (Flexible) Pay: $18.00hr Type: Full-Time SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES Review intake paperwork, ensuring the necessary required documents are present and the paperwork has been completed correctly and completely, and meet with potential clients as needed. Complete internal intake form with clients obtaining reason for services and any other information needed for CARF or COMAR standards. Ensure former client charts and any legal documents are reviewed by a coordinator or director prior to scheduling an intake. Complete an initial insurance verification at the clinic level and complete insurance inquiry Streamline for final administration approval. Process school-based referrals for all clinics. Request records from recent hospitalizations as necessary, prior to intake. Coordinate with hospitals and prioritize hospital discharges to offer an intake within 5 business days. Create or update client charts prior to the intake appointment, to include completing checklists and uploading chart documents. Obtaining necessary initial authorizations from appropriate insurance companies for client/clinic services. Communication with clients regarding their insurance benefits, deductibles, co-payments/co-insurances. Maintain a spreadsheet of intakes, including CARF data points, and provide it to the Lead Office Manager and Director of Clinical Services by the 5th of each month for the month prior. In conjunction with the Lead Office Manager, the Admissions Specialist will cross-train clinic office staff in entering/updating client charts for assistance as needed. Other duties as assigned. The Admissions Specialist is responsible for performing and/or delegating duties in a timely, effective manner, coordinating with other agencies to ensure insurance and added benefits entitlements are procured, ensuring security of client records and information, and performs other duties as needed to achieve program goals and objectives. DESIRABLE MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: · Demonstrates ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. · Prior experience in a patient care setting or medical billing environment preferred. · Good organizational and customer service skills and the ability to interact with clients, families, staff, management, physicians, representatives of insurance companies, as well as the public. · Must function effectively under stress and demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills. · Proficiency in the use of computers and printers, fax machines and computer internet services and electronic medical records. · Prior experience in the healthcare industry and/or medical terminology. · Good working knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance. · Ability to act as a liaison between the front office and back-office systems. · Good attention to detail and ability to multitask. · Ability to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment. · Knowledge of HIPAA rules and familiarity with maintaining client confidentiality. Education and Experience: · High School diploma · Prior medical billing or patient care experience · Excellent customer service skills · Proficiency in all Microsoft Office programs and database systems required, especially Excel.
