About the Company

Our client is an established U.S.-based law firm that has represented injured workers and injury victims for decades, with a focus on workers' compensation and personal injury matters.

The firm is looking to add a highly experienced paralegal or attorney to work as the right hand of its litigating attorneys.

About the Role

We're looking for a highly experienced paralegal or attorney to serve as the right hand to the litigating attorney on Minnesota workers' compensation cases (work comp and related tort claims, meaning injury claims brought against insurance companies on behalf of injured workers).

This is not an entry-level or general admin role. The ideal candidate already understands how workers' compensation litigation works and can get a case fully prepared for the attorney to argue, including making appearances on the attorney's behalf short of trial itself.

This is intended to be a long-term engagement. Because of the learning curve involved in understanding Minnesota workers' compensation law and the firm's internal processes, the firm is not looking to repeat this training with frequent turnover. There is also potential for this role to expand into related personal injury matters outside of workers' compensation.

Why This Opportunity?

  • Long-term engagement with a law firm that values stability and continuity.
  • Work in close coordination with experienced litigating attorneys.
  • Act essentially as an attorney would on a case, short of appearing at trial.
  • Potential to expand into related personal injury matters.

What You'll Do

  • Prepare case files for the litigating attorney from start to finish, including legal research specific to Minnesota workers' compensation and injury law.
  • Review medical records and cross-reference them against the client's account of the injury to build a complete, accurate picture of the case.
  • Ensure every case meets the proper medical-legal standards required to win in front of a judge or in settlement.
  • Make appearances on behalf of the attorney as needed throughout the case lifecycle.
  • Work under the direct supervision of, and in close coordination with, Attorney Mark Rodgers and Attorney Jim Perkett.
  • Act essentially as an attorney would on a case, short of appearing at trial.

Qualifications

Required

  • Significant, hands-on experience with Minnesota workers' compensation cases or closely related injury and insurance litigation work. Candidates fresh out of school are not a fit for this role.
  • Comfortable independently managing a full caseload: legal research, medical record review, case preparation, and appearances.
  • Strong written and spoken English.
  • Based in Mexico, Central America, or South America, with availability aligned to U.S. Central or Eastern business hours.

How Success Is Measured

  • Case files fully prepared for the attorney to argue.
  • Accurate, complete case pictures built from medical records and client accounts.
  • Reliable appearances and follow-through on the attorney's behalf.
  • Long-term commitment and low turnover.

Why Join Us

You'll join a collaborative, fully remote team that values ownership, professionalism, clear communication, and long-term commitment, working side by side with experienced attorneys.

Compensation: $10–$20 USD per hour, depending on qualifications and experience; final terms to be confirmed.

Contract Type: Independent Contractor, with contracting and payments managed through Deel.

Important Notes

  • This is a legal support role, not a position to practice U.S. law independently. All work is performed under the supervision of the firm's licensed attorneys.
  • Shortlisted candidates may be asked to complete a written English and legal-support skills assessment.
  • Please submit your CV in English, detailing your legal education, bar admission or professional credentials (if applicable), English proficiency, and relevant workers' compensation, injury, or insurance litigation experience.

This is a fully remote position.
