The University of Iowa Center for Advancement (UICA) seeks an Advancement Associate within our Health Science Development team. This position will join a team focused on corporate and community fundraising, including stewarding Children’s Miracle Network (CMN) partners and initiatives on behalf of University of Iowa Health Care and University of Iowa Health Care Stead Family Children’s Hospital. This position provides administrative support to the Corporate & Community Development team and independently manages projects of moderate complexity within established processes and procedures. The role thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and may occasionally require evening and weekend work to support events and fundraising initiatives.
*This position is eligible for hybrid work (telecommuting) which includes working on-site at our office in Iowa City at least 3 days per week.

- Provides administrative support for the CCD team, including budget tracking, gift depositing and coding, proactive calendaring support, purchasing and invoicing etc.
- Drives projects from initiation through completion, establishing timelines, milestones, and deliverables with minimal oversight.
- Prepares, reviews, and routes Statements of Gift Intent (SOGIs) and supporting documentation; partners with development staff and internal stakeholders to ensure gift agreements are complete, accurate, and processed in a timely manner.
- Plans campus or hospital visits for corporate, community, or CMN donors while providing support to the team around all aspects of the visit.
- Executes custom stewardship items for corporations as well as community-based donor groups. This also includes executing awareness efforts (e.g., CMN newsletters, website, recurring giving projects, holiday cards).
- Creates procedures and shares best practices for internal processes; uses project management software to manage workplans. Proactively monitors project progress and adjusts plans as needed, communicating updates and reminders.
- Collaborates with CCD team and events team in the execution of 7-10 events annually, including radiothons, dance marathons, corporate engagement events, etc.
- Provide support in producing original materials for events (invitations, promotional flyers, program booklets, etc.) and then serve as logistical support at the event.
Education & Experience: HS diploma + 6 years administrative experience, OR associate’s degree + 4 years administrative experience, OR bachelor’s degree + 2 years administrative experience
