Would you like to take on a stimulating, high-impact challenge? We are looking for an Advisor, Environmental Coordination and Planning.

The role

We are seeking an Advisor, Environment Planning who will act as the key liaison between Alto’s environment specialists, the project management team and other internal stakeholders to ensure effective coordination, communication and alignment with organizational standards and priorities. Reporting directly to the Vice President, Environment, this person will oversee project planning and documentation, schedule management meetings and agenda creation, and will support the full project lifecycle. This role requires strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a complex, fast-paced environment.



The responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with the Environment team to coordinate initiatives supporting the completion of the Impact Assessments for the High-Speed rail Network and the development and implementation of the sustainability strategy;
  • Prepare presentations, draft documents and create various meetings agendas for the Impact Assessment and Sustainability Teams;
  • Contribute to the maintenance of the master schedule by providing Environment-related updates, milestones, and deliverables in collaboration with the Project Management team;
  • Support project lifecycle activities, including contract administration, budget review, invoice processing, project closeout, archiving, Boréalis engagement tool, tracking and overall reporting to senior management;
  • Organize and maintain Environment Shared Drives, ensuring proper version control and accessibility; plan and document team meetings, circulate minutes, and track follow-up actions to maintain accountability;
  • Maintain and update Environment project roadmaps and trackers, co-developed with Cadence, to ensure clear visibility on progress, priorities, issues and upcoming deadlines;
  • Monitor key milestones, deliverables, dependencies, risks and action items across the Environment workstreams;
  • Ensure liaison with Cadence, Alto’s private developer partner, to prepare for key meetings.

The requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental studies, public or business administration, social sciences or a relevant field;
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience as a project coordinator, preferably with exposure to Environmental impact assessments, Indigenous relations, infrastructure, or construction projects;
  • Knowledge of Environmental Regulatory frameworks: Strong understanding of governance structures and the priorities in the Quebec and Ontario regions is an asset;
  • Relevant exposure to government objectives, mandates, and reporting requirements tied to real property projects;
  • Professional working proficiency in French and English in order to serve our offices across Canada.

  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal skills with the ability to prepare high-quality materials and presentations;
  • Collaboration: Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with diverse internal and external stakeholders;
  • Results-Oriented: Proven ability to deliver on priorities, improve outcomes, and add value under tight deadlines;
  • Analytical & Organizational Skills: Strong ability to manage complex schedules, budgets, and reporting requirements. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously;
  • Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Ms Project or equivalent and MS PowerPoint is essential; knowledge of Microsoft Visio is an asset; familiarity with other project management tools as well as financial tracking systems such as SAP, Oracle.
