Mafix transforms the world's most abundant rocks and minerals into the next generation of fertilizers. Our products help farmers maintain and improve crop yields while permanently removing CO₂ from the atmosphere through enhanced rock weathering, delivering a dual return that conventional agricultural products cannot.
We produce our mineral fertilizer using spare capacity in cement rotary kilns, making it cost-competitive without building new infrastructure. Applied to soil, it releases plant-available silicon and other nutrients that strengthen crops against climate stress, drought, and pests, while sequestering carbon as the mineral dissolves.
With core chemistry published in Nature, our pre-seed funding secured, and key partnerships in place, we are scaling fast: moving from pilot production to a 1,000-tonne commercial run in 2027. We are looking for team members excited to unlock the power of abundant rocks towards a climate positive and food abundant future!
Position Details:
This is not a typical agronomy role. Mafix is looking for an agronomic leader who can help turn a breakthrough Silicon based mineral fertilizer technology into a product used across row-crop systems nationwide .. and ultimately globally. This person will sit at the intersection of science, field validation, and commercial adoption: shaping product development, designing and executing agronomic trials, translating results into clear value for growers and buyers, and building the partnerships needed to bring Mafix mineral fertilizer to market at scale.
We are looking for a highly skilled, deeply curious, and commercially minded agronomist who is as energized by soil-mineral chemistry as they are by getting in front of growers, retailers, distributors, co-ops, CPG companies, and other agricultural buyers. The right person will be able to move fluidly between technical conversations with researchers and practical conversations with customers, helping Mafix demonstrate where our products create the most value in real farming systems.
In this role, you will help define the agronomic promise of plant-available silicon and Mafix’s next-generation fertilizer materials. You will identify and manage external field-trial partners, guide study design and analysis, communicate results internally and externally, and help convert agronomic evidence into commercial momentum. This is a chance to help build a new category of climate-positive crop inputs and to play a central role in making that technology available to row-crop markets at national and global scale.
This role will report to the Chief Executive Officer and is available as a remote, hybrid, or full-time onsite (in Seattle, WA) position on a candidate-by-candidate basis.
