The Role We are hiring a AI Automation & Digital Workforce Specialist to lead the design and implementation of AI agents across our operations. You will work closely with operations leaders, finance teams, and leadership to identify inefficiencies, redesign workflows, and build intelligent agents that improve speed, accuracy, quality, and scalability. This is a highly strategic and hands-on role. You will need to understand both: How AI agents and automation systems are built How operational finance workflows function in the real world The right person is equally comfortable discussing: Agent orchestration frameworks Accounting workflows Prompt engineering Process bottlenecks APIs and integrations Human-in-the-loop systems Operational quality metrics You are not just building automations. You are building digital employees. What You’ll Do Build AI Agents & Digital Workers Design and deploy AI agents for bookkeeping, payroll, reconciliations, month-end close, reporting, and financial operations workflows Create intelligent systems capable of performing multi-step operational tasks with human oversight where required Develop AI workflows that continuously improve through operational feedback and learning loops Understand & Re-engineer Processes Work closely with operational teams to deeply understand existing workflows Identify inefficiencies, repetitive tasks, bottlenecks, and quality gaps Redesign processes using AI, automation, orchestration tools, and intelligent workflow systems Integrate Systems & Tools Build integrations across platforms including: QuickBooks Online Xero Dext Plooto Karbon Internal operational systems Work with APIs, automation platforms, workflow tools, and LLM-based systems Build Operational AI Infrastructure Create frameworks for: Agent monitoring Escalation management Audit trails Quality assurance Workflow orchestration Exception handling Ensure AI systems are scalable, secure, reliable, and production-ready Drive AI Adoption Across Enkel Partner with leadership and operations teams to prioritize automation opportunities Help operational teams adopt AI-enabled workflows Contribute to Enkel’s long-term AI and operational technology strategy What We’re Looking For Required Experience 5 to 10 years of experience in software engineering, AI systems, automation, or related technical fields Strong experience building AI agents, intelligent automations, or workflow orchestration systems Experience working with APIs, integrations, and operational software platforms Hands-on experience with LLMs, prompt engineering, and agent frameworks Strong systems thinking and process design capabilities Ability to translate operational problems into scalable technical solutions Bonus Points If You Have Experience in bookkeeping, accounting operations, payroll, or FinOps environments Experience with tools such as QBO, Xero, Dext, Karbon, Plooto, Zapier, Make, UiPath, LangChain, CrewAI, OpenAI APIs, Claude, or similar ecosystems Experience building human-in-the-loop AI systems Experience scaling operational automation within service businesses What Makes Someone Successful Here You: Think in systems, workflows, and operational scale Are obsessed with efficiency and continuous improvement Enjoy solving messy operational problems Care deeply about quality and reliability Can simplify complexity into practical solutions Are curious enough to learn accounting operations even if you do not come from finance Move quickly and build iteratively Understand that small operational improvements compound into massive business impact over time You are the kind of person who looks at a repetitive operational workflow and immediately thinks: “This should be automated.” Why Join Enkel Opportunity to help build one of the most AI-enabled finance operations firms in Canada High ownership and direct collaboration with leadership Ability to shape the future operating model of the company Work on real-world AI implementations with measurable operational impact Build systems that directly improve scalability, efficiency, and client experience Work Environment Hybrid role based in Vancouver, BC Regular in-person collaboration with leadership and operations teams Fast-moving and highly collaborative environment Strong focus on execution, innovation, and continuous improvement Compensation & Benefits $120,000 to $140,000 CAD annually, depending on experience and capability Performance-based incentives Extended health and dental benefits Flexible hybrid work environment Leadership growth opportunity Opportunity to build and lead transformational AI initiatives across the organization
