Scale Tech is a software development agency based in Vilnius, Lithuania. We're expanding our AI capabilities and looking for an experienced AI Engineer to join us on a contract basis. If you love turning LLMs into real, production-ready automation, not just prototypes — this could be your next project.
Contract term (B2B) — 1–4 months, full-time. Part-time can also be arranged if that suits you better.
Working method — Remote, must be based in the EU/EEA
Hourly rate — €30–40/hour, depending on experience (open to discussing higher rates for the right candidate)
What you'll do:
Design, build, and deploy AI agents that automate real business processes (e.g. generating proposals for client tenders).
Integrate LLMs — including OpenAI, Gemini, Anthropic, and open-source models — into existing software products, enabling features like AI chatbots that can act directly within a client's systems and data.
Spot automation opportunities and turn them into working solutions.
Choose the right LLM/tooling approach for each use case, weighing cost, performance, and reliability.
Own delivery end-to-end, from prototype to production.
What makes you a great fit:
5+ years of overall software engineering experience.
At least 5 successfully delivered AI/LLM projects.
Hands-on experience with multiple LLM providers (OpenAI, Gemini, Anthropic) as well as open-source models.
Experience building agentic workflows for process automation.
Experience integrating LLMs into production software products (chatbots, copilots, or similar AI-powered features).
Strong engineering fundamentals and the ability to work independently in a fast-moving, sometimes ambiguous environment.
Bonus points:
Experience with SaaS products, especially in supply chain, logistics, or other B2B software domains.
Familiarity with agent frameworks (LangChain, LlamaIndex, CrewAI, or similar).
Experience with prompt engineering or fine-tuning at scale.
Prior consulting or contracting experience
