Role Overview:

We are looking for an AI Engineer to design and build production-grade software solutions where AI is a core engineering capability. AI is the primary focus of this role, but the position is not limited to building standalone AI products.

The ideal candidate can combine AI, software engineering, data, APIs, automation, and integrations to solve complex business and operational problems and can move from prototype to reliable production implementation.

What You Will Work On:

• AI-enabled applications, intelligent workflows, and enterprise automation.
• Agentic and multi-agent systems.
• Retrieval-Augmented Generation, enterprise search, and knowledge systems.
• Document intelligence and structured/unstructured data processing.
• AI integrations with databases, APIs, internal platforms, and third-party systems.
• Backend services, automation, operational tools, and AI-powered platform capabilities.
• AI evaluation, observability, reliability, performance, security, and cost optimization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, test, and deploy production-grade AI solutions.
• Build AI into broader software solutions where it creates measurable value.
• Develop agentic and multi-agent systems with tools, skills, orchestration, and state management.
• Implement RAG pipelines across structured and unstructured enterprise data.
• Design prompts, system instructions, context strategies, structured outputs, and tool/function calling.
• Develop backend services and APIs primarily using Python.
• Integrate AI solutions with databases, APIs, enterprise platforms, document repositories, and internal systems.
• Build document ingestion, chunking, metadata, indexing, retrieval, and permission-aware access mechanisms.
• Design evaluation approaches for response quality, retrieval quality, hallucination risk, task completion, latency, reliability, and cost.
• Implement logging, monitoring, traces, observability, and auditability.
• Optimize AI systems for production performance and cost.
• Troubleshoot issues across AI, application code, databases, integrations, and infrastructure.
• Collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, Data, DevOps, QA, and Security.
• Convert successful implementations into reusable platform capabilities rather than one-off solutions.

Required Qualifications:

• 2+ years of professional software engineering or AI engineering experience.
• Strong professional experience with Python and solid software engineering fundamentals.
• Hands-on experience building production applications using Large Language Models.
• Strong understanding of LLMs, RAG, embeddings, semantic search, prompt engineering, context engineering, structured outputs, tool calling, agentic workflows, and AI evaluation.
• Strong experience building backend services and REST APIs.
• Strong SQL skills and experience with PostgreSQL or similar relational databases.
• Experience integrating third-party and enterprise APIs.
• Experience working with both structured and unstructured data.
• Experience with Docker and containerized applications.
• Cloud deployment experience, preferably GCP.
• Git and CI/CD experience.
• Strong debugging and production troubleshooting skills.

Preferred Experience:

• OpenAI APIs and models.
• Google Vertex AI.
• Multi-agent and orchestration frameworks.
• Vector databases, vector search, or pgvector.
• Redis.
• TypeScript, JavaScript, or Node.js.
• n8n or comparable workflow automation platforms.
• Kubernetes / GKE.
• Jira, Bitbucket, Slack, and enterprise SaaS integrations.
• Document processing for PDF, DOCX, spreadsheets, and other enterprise formats.
• AI observability and tracing platforms.
• OAuth, OIDC, SSO, RBAC, IAM, and enterprise security concepts.
• Experience operating AI solutions in regulated or enterprise environments.

They should be comfortable moving through Problem → Architecture → Prototype → Engineering → Integration → Evaluation → Production → Monitoring → Improvement.
