AI Engineer — Agentic Engineering (Python + React/Next.js)

Who we are

mühlemann+popp (m+p) is a digital company builder based in Zurich, founded in 2010. We launch and scale web-based companies — sobrado.ch, bontique.ch, evenito.com, and realmatch360.ch among them. ~50 people across Zurich, Warsaw, and remote Europe. We build agentic AI into our products, and use it to change how we write code.

Why this role matters

We're hiring an AI Engineer to build AI-driven products: autonomous agents, chatbots, and LLM-powered workflows that ship into our ventures and client work. You'll own these systems from prototype to production — architecture and code quality both. Core stack is Python and React/Next.js, across our Healthcare and Industry verticals.
This isn't a prompt-engineering role. We need engineers who use agentic dev tools (Claude Code, Cursor) to move faster while keeping full control of what ships.

What You'll Do

• Build agentic systems: agents, chatbots, and multi-step tool-using pipelines, from prototype to production.
• Build and optimize RAG pipelines, LLM integrations, tool/function calling, evals, and guardrails.
• Architect Python backends (FastAPI, Flask, or Django) and the React/Next.js interfaces in front of them.
• Use Cursor/Claude Code to accelerate delivery, auditing every output for security and maintainability.
• Containerize with Docker and contribute to CI/CD.
• Take part in architectural discussions and code reviews.

Must-Haves

• Shipped LLM-powered features — agents, chatbots, RAG — in production, not just demos.
• Deep experience with modern Python (3.10+).
• React/Next.js for building AI product frontends.
• Expert-level use of Cursor or Claude Code, including agentic features for complex refactors.
• Pragmatic judgment: working software first, clean architecture where it counts.
• English (B2+) and the ability to work remote-first.

Technical Toolkit

• SQL (PostgreSQL) and NoSQL.
• Vector databases / embeddings for retrieval.
• Docker.
• Git.

Bonus Points

• C# (.NET) or PHP.
• GCP, Azure, or Terraform.
• Capacitor or Flutter.

The Deal

• Contract: B2B or business-incubator.
• Compensation: €20–40/hour (gross).
• 100% remote.
