AI Engineering Intern

Explore and prototype AI-powered automation tools for the mortgage and real estate industry. The goal of this internship is to help improve the borrower application experience, automate parts of the loan processing workflow, and support development of an AI-enabled CRM system. Hands-on work for students interested in AI agents, workflow automation, LLM applications, fintech systems, and real-world product development.

What you'll do

• Assist with designing and testing AI workflows for mortgage and real estate operations.
• Help build prototypes using Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, API tools, or no-code/low-code automation platforms.
• Support prompt engineering and evaluation of AI-generated outputs.
• Document system logic, workflow assumptions, and user interaction flows.
• Collaborate with the UI designer intern to turn workflows into user-facing product experiences.
• Collaborate with the marketing intern to explain product features in simple user language.
• Research AI tools and recommend practical implementation approaches.
  
  

Example projects

• Prototype an AI assistant that helps guide borrowers through a loan application.
• Design workflow automations for document collection, borrower follow-up, and loan status updates.
• Build or test AI tools for summarizing borrower conversations and generating suggested next actions.
• Explore CRM automation for leads from email, website forms, and referrals.
• Create proof-of-concept integrations between AI tools, CRM records, and loan-processing workflows.
• Evaluate tools such as OpenAI, Claude, n8n, Zapier, Make, Airtable, or Supabase.

What we're looking for

• Current student or recent graduate in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Basic programming experience in Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, or a similar language.
• Interest in AI, LLMs, automation, fintech, or mortgage technology.
• Familiarity with APIs, databases, web apps, or automation tools is a plus.
• Experience with OpenAI API, Claude, LangChain, n8n, Figma, Supabase, Firebase, or React is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn complex business workflows.
