We're an AI-first builder giving underdog companies a new lease of life with AI. We are launched out of Chicago Atlantic, a $3B AUM private credit/debt firm with a top tier fund performance record and deep expertise in AI roll-ups and restructurings. We've spent years inside the deals, and we've seen exactly how much value AI can create for smaller companies that lack the capabilities to compete with larger companies. Now we're building the AI systems to change that: an AI-obsessed team applying frontier AI engineering to the workflows that finance, banking, and restructuring actually run on.
We're small (a ringfenced AI team of 35 and growing), we ship, and we sit close to real capital and real operators. That's the difference between AI that demos well and AI that changes how the work gets done.

Your users are engineers: the FDEs and customer engineers who depend on your work every day. We focus on building products that can run in any runtime. A skill that works for one client shouldn't have to be forked to reach the next, and your job is to make sure it isn't. This is a highly technical role, without expectations of forward deployment.
- Build runtimes where we need them, and fill in the missing plugins and components on existing ones
- Maintain the plugin infra and the tools FDEs and customer engineers use to ship client changes on their own
- Be on call for urgent (P0) issues that block the business
- Productizing a workflow an FDE built for one client into a product the next client installs
- Packaging skills and tools as plugins that run in any runtime
- Skills management: one versioned, tested library, with no forks or drift
- Evals on every change, so a skill update never breaks a client
- Shaping how skills, memory and tools work together
- FDEs and customer engineers ship client changes without waiting on an AI engineer
- Where an existing runtime or tool fits, we use it, and you only build what's missing
An entrepreneurial environment: you own your work and make decisions under ambiguity. We move fast and expect fast, proactive communication. You'll spend significant time each week (3 to 4 hours) on calls with US stakeholders, and your office hours are adjusted to match.
- Experience with AI/ML, including running AI agents in production
- You understand that agents are platform agnostic: they run anywhere and everywhere
- Advanced proficiency in Python and/or TypeScript
- Comfortable with git-based release flows, CI, and environment and configuration management
- Experience running multi-client systems off one codebase, or building internal tooling other engineers depend on
- Professional working English, comfortable communicating technical decisions to international teams and stakeholders
- Building AI-native companies
- Competitive package, private health care, 19 annual leave days
- Hybrid working model
- Apply: send your CV
- Intro call (30 min): cover your background and the role; you decide if it's worth going deeper
- Technical interview: a task covering the skills you'll need to succeed
- Final interview and offer
