Senior Ruby on Rails Engineer

1. Overview

La Voie's client is the Vietnam engineering arm of a Japan-headquartered SaaS company that runs a leading cloud-based project management platform for the construction industry, used by several hundred thousand people. The platform covers site communication, schedule coordination, quality checks, order control, and management improvement.

2. Job Description

As the business grows, you'll join a small, cross-functional squad that covers design, development, testing, and operations, working directly with the product manager.

• Design and implement product features in Ruby on Rails.
• Refactor existing products toward microservices.
• Define requirements and write specifications together with product managers and designers.
• Design architecture from requirements and select middleware.
• Measure the impact of changes, then drive quality and service improvements.

Environment: AWS and GCP; Amazon Aurora (MySQL-compatible), Elasticsearch, DynamoDB; CircleCI, CodeBuild, CodePipeline, GitHub Actions; Terraform, Packer, Ansible; Datadog, Bugsnag; Docker, Swagger, Jira.

3. Job Requirement

What we expect:

• 5+ years developing and operating web services with Ruby on Rails.
• Experience as a technical lead across the full project lifecycle.
• Knowledge of, and development experience with, database systems.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure, etc.).
• Experience designing, building, and documenting APIs.
• Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle.
• Genuine alignment with the company's mission and values.

What would be helpful:

• Diagnosing and solving problems from logs.
• Docker and Kubernetes experience.
• Designing architecture from requirements and selecting middleware.
• Open-source publishing or contributions.
• External technical output (blogs, writing, talks).
