Position Summary The AI Product Manager serves as the institutional product and relationship lead for identifying, evaluating, and advancing AI products that address high-value business, clinical, administrative, and operational needs at St. Jude. This role translates workflow pain points into clear problem statements, product requirements, business cases, success measures, and practical recommendations; evaluates market and vendor options; prioritizes opportunities; and helps determine which solutions are the best fit for the organization. The successful candidate will work across clinicians, administrators, operational leaders, vendors, IS, data and analytics, engineering, security, and governance partners to ask the right questions, clarify tradeoffs, build trust, and guide decisions that support implementation readiness, adoption, and value realization. Experience with Epic and a strong understanding of clinical, administrative, and operational workflows are highly desirable. Success in this position requires strong product leadership, sound judgment, curiosity, user empathy, and excellent communication and facilitation skills. This position may be eligible for remote work. However, St. Jude requires all remote employees to: Travel to our Memphis campus for the interview process and/or orientation, if selected. Travel to Memphis to work on-site for one week per quarter, or as requested based on business needs, if hired. Duties/Responsibilities: Serves as the institutional product lead for AI solutions, accountable for identifying, prioritizing, and advancing the right-fit products to address priority pain points, workflow friction, and strategic opportunities across St. Jude. Builds trusted relationships across clinical, administrative, operational, IS, data, analytics, and technical teams to understand workflows, clarify pain points, translate needs into requirements, and evaluate solution options. Leads market scans, vendor evaluations, and product comparisons to assess strategic fit, workflow fit, technical feasibility, implementation complexity, risk, support model, and expected value. Develops product recommendations and business cases that translate workflow pain points into expected value, adoption implications, dependencies, implementation readiness, risks, and success metrics. Guides products through the stage-gate pipeline, ensuring requests are vetted and aligned with institutional priorities, governance requirements, and available capabilities. Facilitates cross-functional forums and special interest groups, using diplomacy and synthesis skills to align stakeholders, surface concerns, coordinate evaluation activities, and drive toward informed recommendations. Leads pilots and structured product evaluations, including success criteria, validation plans, stakeholder roles, workflow implications, adoption needs, and readiness for scale. Translates approved products into implementation and adoption plans, clarifying requirements, supporting prioritization, aligning stakeholders, and guiding value realization. Partners with architecture, security, data, platform, and technical teams to ensure product decisions account for feasibility, enterprise architecture, dependencies, and implementation risk. Monitors product performance, adoption, benefits realization, user feedback, and outcomes, and communicates evidence-based updates and recommendations to stakeholders and leadership. Attends and facilitates AI-related committees, councils, and meetings and performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Education and/or Training: Bachelor's degree in computer science, data science, information science, business, or related field required. Master's degree preferred. Minimum Experience: Minimum requirement: 5+ years in Information Technology implementation, application management, data management/advanced analytics, and governance required. 7+ years of experience in product management, product strategy, digital health, healthcare technology, enterprise technology evaluation, or a related field highly preferred. Proven ability to engage, influence, and collaborate with diverse stakeholders across clinical, business, and executive environments. Strong curiosity and evolving knowledge of GenAI/AI technologies, with the ability to anticipate industry trends. Experience working with a wide range of partners—from established enterprise vendors to emerging start-ups. Skilled in analytics, experimentation, and data storytelling, with the capability to craft and deliver compelling, high-impact presentations. Comfortable interacting with senior leaders and clinical staff to drive strategic discussions and decision-making. Working knowledge of GenAI/AI solutions and their practical application in organizational contexts. Experience evaluating, implementing, scaling, or supporting adoption of digital, analytics, automation, AI, or GenAI products in an enterprise environment highly preferred. Healthcare or healthcare technology experience, including exposure to clinical, administrative, or operational workflows highly preferred. Experience evaluating vendor solutions and product fit across business, clinical, technical, security, and operational dimensions highly preferred. Experience shaping product direction, prioritizing opportunities, and guiding initiatives from discovery through implementation, adoption, and scale highly preferred. Experience translating user needs and workflow pain points into product requirements, business cases, success metrics, pilots, adoption plans, and leadership recommendations highly preferred. Ability to partner effectively with technical teams to understand feasibility, dependencies, risks, and implementation implications highly preferred. Strong written, verbal, facilitation, and synthesis skills, with the ability to translate between business, clinical, operational, and technical audiences highly preferred. Other Desirable Qualifications: Experience evaluating or working with Epic is highly desirable, especially where that experience includes translating clinical, administrative, or operational workflow pain points into product requirements, business cases, or adoption plans preferred. Working knowledge of commercially available AI and GenAI solutions, including healthcare products and enterprise copilots or assistants preferred. Experience with other enterprise platforms such as Microsoft, ServiceNow, Workday, or comparable healthcare and business technology products preferred. Knowledge and Skills: Strong product leadership, stakeholder management, and executive communication skills, with the ability to lead through influence and align diverse groups around shared decisions. Excellent facilitation, diplomacy, active listening, and synthesis skills with senior leaders, clinicians, operational leaders, vendors, and technical partners. Broad understanding of AI and GenAI products, vendor landscapes, implementation patterns, integration considerations, governance expectations, support models, and structured product comparison in enterprise healthcare environments. Ability to translate business, clinical, administrative, and operational pain points into product requirements, business cases, success measures, and adoption plans. Strong understanding of Epic-centered clinical, administrative, and operational workflows and how they shape product fit, adoption, and value realization. Skilled in user research, usability assessment, end-user experience discovery, and structured questioning to identify user needs, workflow barriers, strengths, limitations, dependencies, and risks. Technical fluency sufficient to partner with engineering, architecture, security, data, and platform teams and understand implementation implications. Familiarity with healthcare data governance, privacy, legal, security, and regulatory considerations associated with evaluating and scaling AI solutions. Knowledge of product, pilot, and implementation management practices, including prioritization, change enablement, adoption planning, and readiness for scale. Compensation In recognition of certain U.S. state and municipal pay transparency laws, St. Jude is including a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This is an estimate offered in good faith and a specific salary offer takes into account factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the salary range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
