About Ping
Ping is building the next generation of AI-powered consumer agents that help people turn their interests into an edge. Whether it's finance, sports, shopping, or everyday trends, Ping transforms the topics people care about into personalized insights and actionable opportunities, helping anyone discover more, act on their interests, and outthink the crowd. Backed by top-tier VCs, we're an early-stage AI startup building for the US consumer market, with global ambitions.
About the Role
We're looking for an AI-native Product Manager with strong AI product knowledge, technical fluency, and the ability to build products from 0 to 1.
This isn't a traditional PM role focused on writing requirements and coordinating delivery. You'll work directly with our founders and engineering team to define how AI powers our product, identify new opportunities, and turn ideas into real user experiences.
You should understand how modern AI systems work, what they're capable of, and where their limitations are. More importantly, you know how to translate those capabilities into intuitive, reliable, and compelling consumer products.
We're looking for someone who doesn't just talk about AI or use AI tools for productivity, but actively experiments, builds, and thinks about how AI can fundamentally change the user experience.
What You'll Do
- Own AI product development end to end: Define product strategy, roadmap, requirements, and execution from concept to launch.
- Design AI-powered experiences: Translate AI capabilities into intuitive consumer-facing features, workflows, and agentic experiences.
- Work closely with AI engineers: Collaborate on LLM integrations, agent workflows, tool calling, model selection, and technical tradeoffs.
- Build and prototype independently: Leverage AI coding tools like Claude Code, Cursor, Lovable, and Replit to rapidly develop functional prototypes and validate ideas.
- Optimize AI product performance: Understand and evaluate accuracy, reliability, latency, cost, and overall user experience.
- Own product metrics: Define success metrics, analyze user behavior, and continuously improve activation, engagement, retention, and conversion.
- Conduct user and market research: Understand user needs, study emerging AI products, and identify opportunities to differentiate Ping.
- Drive 0-to-1 execution: Prioritize ruthlessly, make product decisions, and work directly with founders, engineers, and designers to ship quickly.
What We're looking For
- 1+ years of relevant experience in product management, AI products, engineering, startups, or building consumer applications.
- Strong AI knowledge (Required): Solid understanding of LLMs, AI agents, prompt engineering, tool/function calling, RAG, and common AI architectures. You understand both their capabilities and limitations.
- Hands-on AI builder (Required): Experience using AI development tools to build functional prototypes or applications independently. We want to see real projects you've built.
- AI product thinking: Ability to identify where AI creates meaningful user value, design effective AI interactions, and understand the tradeoffs between AI-driven and traditional product experiences.
- Technical fluency: Comfortable discussing APIs, data structures, system architecture, frontend/backend workflows, and technical implementation with engineers.
- Strong consumer product sense: Understanding of consumer psychology, user experience, activation, engagement, and retention.
- Creative problem-solving: Ability to come up with original product ideas, challenge assumptions, and translate complex technology into simple user experiences.
- Data-driven decision-making: Comfortable working with product analytics, experimentation, and user feedback to drive improvements.
- Ownership mindset: Proactive, independent, fast-moving, and comfortable working in an early-stage startup.
Nice to Have
- Experience building or launching AI agents, LLM-powered applications, or AI-native consumer products.
- Hands-on experience with LLM APIs, agent frameworks, evaluation tools, or AI workflow orchestration.
- Familiarity with React, TypeScript, Next.js, Python, Node.js, or SQL.
- Understanding of iOS development and mobile consumer applications.
- Previous startup, founder, or independent product-building experience.
- Familiarity with the US consumer market, digital culture, and emerging AI trends.
Why Join Us?
- Build an AI-native consumer product from the ground up.
- Work directly with founders and have meaningful ownership over product direction.
- Experiment with emerging AI technologies and turn them into real-world consumer experiences.
- Move fast, ship frequently, and see the direct impact of your work.
How to Apply?
Please submit your resume along with links to your portfolio, AI projects, prototypes, or products you've personally built. We'd especially love to see AI-powered applications or agentic workflows you've designed or developed, along with an explanation of your role and the technical or product decisions you made.
