AI & Robotics Engineer
InDigital SAWe are putting robots to work in the real world -and we are looking for the engineer who will make them useful.
inDigital is building a Robots-as-a-Service operation in Greece: a multi-brand fleet of humanoid, quadruped and commercial service robots deployed at real customer sites - reception and visitor interaction, transport, patrol and inspection, cleaning, food service and grounds maintenance.
We are not a hardware reseller. We build the software layer that makes a robot actually do a job for a customer, and we operate it day to day. This is the first engineering hire for that team - you will not be maintaining someone else’s system.
What you will do in your first year• Build the agentic layer for our reception robots: a voice-driven assistant that greets visitors, answers questions, handles registrations and bookings in Greek and English, and drives the robot’s behavior
• Integrate the fleet into our operations platform — monitoring, task scheduling, remote intervention, usage reporting
• Connect robots to customer systems: POS/ERP, hospital information systems, booking platforms, access control
• Take robots from crate to live service: setup, calibration, network configuration, handover testing
• And mainly: Grow into robot capability work — navigation behaviors, perception, and in time fine-tuning vision-language-action models on data we collect ourselves
Robotics
• Hands-on experience debugging real robots through a distributed robotics middleware. ROS 2 preferred; ROS 1 or a proprietary equivalent (AMR, cobot, DDS-based) is fine
• Navigation and SLAM at a practical level: mapping, localization, waypoints — and diagnosing what went wrong
• Understanding of command arbitration, priorities and safety interlocks, and the instinct to constrain a robot’s operating envelope when the platform does not guarantee safety
• Linux in a robot context: services, networking, logs, on-board deployment
AI/ML
• You have designed and shipped an agentic/LLM system in production: tool calling, multi-step orchestration, state management, error handling, evaluation. A system, not prompts
• Real-time voice: ASR/TTS integration, streaming, latency budgets, interruption handling — or a clear grasp of why a four-second reply ruins a reception robot
• Solid ML foundations: supervised and imitation learning, evaluation design, and the judgement to spot a bad dataset. Appetite to grow into owning policy training
Engineering
• Production-grade Python
• REST/cloud APIs, webhooks, async services
• Integrating third-party systems that may not have good documentation
• Git, CI, containers, observability — and writing documentation as a matter of course, not an afterthought
Imitation learning, RL or VLA experience, computer vision (detection, tracking), sim-to-real / simulation-based training (Isaac Sim, Genie Sim, MuJoCo), fleet management platforms, POS/ERP/HIS integrations, site networking (VLANs, access points), experience in a service or field-operations business
