Are you someone who enjoys turning AI ideas into practical solutions and helping others build their confidence? We have an exciting opportunity to join Royal London as an AI Enablement Consultant and help colleagues create trusted AI agents and AI-enabled solutions that improve customer and colleague outcomes.

In our AI and Advanced Analytics team, you'll combine hands-on experience across Microsoft's citizen AI and development toolset with consultancy and coaching. This includes Microsoft 365 Copilot Agent Builder, Microsoft Copilot Studio, GitHub Copilot and CoWork, using the most appropriate tool for the need and the creator's capability. Working alongside business colleagues, you'll take ideas through design, build, testing and handover, helping creators develop the skills to own and maintain their solutions.

This experienced individual contributor role focuses on creator enablement and AI solution design, rather than platform engineering or infrastructure. You'll own the quality of coaching and design support; business owners remain accountable for their solutions, data and outcomes. Platform configuration, infrastructure, shared connector services and platform monitoring remain with engineering and operations teams. No line-management or budget accountability is assumed.

  • Help colleagues turn business needs into enterprise-ready AI agents and AI-enabled solutions using the most appropriate tools across Microsoft's citizen AI and development stack, including Microsoft 365 Copilot Agent Builder, Microsoft Copilot Studio, GitHub Copilot and CoWork, from discovery and prototyping through release readiness and handover.
  • Co-design prompts, instructions, conversation flows, knowledge grounding, tools, actions and human hand-offs, selecting proportionate platform capabilities and solution patterns. These may include retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), standard harnesses, skills-based designs, parent-child agents and multi-agent approaches.
  • Build creator confidence through pairing, demonstrations, clinics and constructive feedback, sharing reusable templates, design guides and learning materials with the creator community and AI Centre of Enablement.
  • Define test scenarios and acceptance criteria for accuracy, consistency, safety, latency and user experience, using evidence to improve prompts, retrieval, generated outputs and solution behaviour.
  • Embed responsible AI, human oversight, security, data protection and least-privilege access throughout delivery, using approved platforms, data, knowledge, tools and connection patterns.
  • Support impact assessments, inventories, design records, approvals and production-readiness evidence across the relevant tools and solutions, ensuring decisions, dependencies, limitations and ownership are clear.
  • Partner with product owners, business specialists, AI System Engineering, architecture, cyber security, data, governance and service teams. Escalate issues promptly and pause progression where material risks are not understood or controlled.
  • Keep guidance current as Microsoft 365 Copilot Agent Builder, Microsoft Copilot Studio, GitHub Copilot, CoWork and enterprise standards evolve, using feedback and delivery learning to reduce rework and improve quality.
  • Follow applicable policies covering records management, operational resilience and change management, complete mandatory learning and support relevant audit, assurance and incident investigations.

About you

  • Hands-on experience designing and building AI agents or AI-enabled solutions using Microsoft's citizen AI and development tools. This should include strong experience in Microsoft Copilot Studio and familiarity with Microsoft 365 Copilot Agent Builder, GitHub Copilot and/or CoWork, with the ability to select the right tool for the use case, risk and creator audience.
  • Practical understanding of prompting, RAG, knowledge-source selection, content preparation and retrieval quality, with the judgement to choose appropriate tools and solution patterns without unnecessary complexity.
  • Experience testing and evaluating AI agent and solution behaviour, diagnosing issues methodically and improving accuracy, safety, usability and failure handling.
  • Working knowledge of APIs, connectors, authentication and enterprise integration concepts, enabling you to shape requirements and collaborate with technical specialists.
  • Understanding of information security, data protection, access control, responsible AI, model risk and governance in a regulated organisation.
  • Consulting, facilitation and coaching skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly and translate business needs into practical designs.
  • A collaborative, patient approach that builds capability rather than dependency, alongside a willingness to constructively challenge unsafe or unsupported designs.
  • The ability to organise support across several use cases and tools, balance experimentation with maintainability and long-term ownership, and keep learning as technology evolves.

You’ll help make responsible AI adoption practical across Royal London. Combining hands-on delivery with knowledge sharing, you’ll help colleagues build useful solutions they understand and can maintain. Our ways of working are empowered, trustworthy, achievement-focused and collaborative, with an emphasis on inclusive design, transparent decisions and learning together.

If you feel you’d be a great fit for Royal London but don’t meet every requirement, we’d still love to hear from you. Research shows some candidates are less likely to apply unless they meet 100% of the criteria - if you meet most requirements and are keen to learn, we encourage you to apply!
