Air Import Specialist

An international logistics company is currently recruiting an Air Import Specialist to join its operations team in the Greater Amsterdam area.

The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating air import shipments, managing transport arrangements and documentation, and ensuring goods are delivered efficiently and on schedule.

The ideal candidate should have at least three years of relevant air import experience, strong knowledge of customs procedures, and excellent Dutch and English communication skills.

Main Responsibilities

• Arrange and book suitable transport solutions for air import shipments
• Prepare, process and check import documentation
• Monitor shipment progress and ensure timely deliveries
• Coordinate with customers, carriers and relevant parties to resolve operational issues
• Maintain accurate shipment records in logistics management systems
• Record transport costs and handle invoicing

Ideal Candidate

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in air import operations or a similar freight forwarding role
• MBO+ level education or equivalent
• Customs declarant qualification (Declaranten Diploma)
• Good knowledge of customs procedures and import documentation
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in Dutch and English
• Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail and a flexible, proactive approach

Conditions

Location: Greater Amsterdam Area, the Netherlands

Working Style: hybrid

Salary: Up to €54,000 gross per annum (€4,500 gross per month), depending on experience

Job Type: Full-time

Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week
