Is this job info correct?

About Invisix Semiconductor manufacturers can't build what they can't measure. Invisix Measuring Systems is a fast-growing scale-up in the high-tech industry, developing next-generation metrology solutions for the semiconductor sector. We work at the intersection of optics, software, and data. We're a small team, but the depth of knowledge inside Invisix is anything but small. Our culture is professional and fast-paced, with short communication lines and a strong sense of shared purpose. Everyone here is committed, and everyone knows their work directly contributes to something bigger. The Role The Algorithm Architect provides technical leadership for the algorithms that turn raw measurement data into accurate, trusted physical parameters. They own the architecture of the data-processing, data-conditioning and model-based reconstruction algorithms used across the measurement pipeline, and act as the technical anchor for the algorithm engineering team's day-to-day work. This person sets technical direction, decides which algorithmic approaches to apply and why, identifies improvements and defines the roadmap to meet them. This is an individual-contributor role: you won't have direct reports or formal people-management duties, but technical leadership and mentorship of the algorithm engineering team are a core, explicit part of what you do. The role works closely with the Software Architect, who owns the software engineering practices and infrastructure the algorithms run on. You'll report directly to our Program Manager Software, Andrea Caponio. What you will do: Own architecture and design decisions for the algorithms used in data-conditioning, data-processing and measurement reconstruction. Translate requirements from other engineering and field-application functions into concrete algorithm requirements. Define the compute hardware specifications (e.g. CPU/GPU capacity) needed to meet the product's measurement throughput targets. Collaborate with the Software Architect on engineering standards for the algorithm codebase, and support the team's adoption of them. Provide technical leadership and mentorship to the algorithm engineering team. Direction-setting, coaching, and unblocking, as a core part of the role. Define what “good” looks like for algorithm performance. Accuracy, robustness, and convergence criteria, and the roadmap toward trusting results with less manual expert review over time. Is this you? PhD in computational physics, applied mathematics, computer science, or a related field (preferred). 10+ years of experience post-PhD, including technical leadership or mentoring of other engineers or scientists. Deep knowledge of computational optical methods, specifically Fourier optics. Significant depth in at least one of: solving differential equations, optimization, or machine learning, with solid working judgment across the others. Background in inverse problems and model-based reconstruction, or a closely adjacent computational field (e.g. computational imaging, tomography, geophysical inversion). Awareness of good software-engineering practice (testing, reproducibility, versioning). Experience explaining algorithmic trade-offs clearly to non-specialist audiences. Applied judgment: you can conceptualize a problem, choose the right algorithmic approach, and justify why, thinking in terms of KPIs rather than a checklist of past projects. Deadline-oriented, with a strong sense of ownership over end-to-end results. Your first weeks and months Get up to speed with Invisix's measurement pipeline, current algorithms, and where the biggest technical bets lie. Meet the algorithm engineering team and the Software Architect, and start shaping how the two roles work together day to day. Review the current state of our data-conditioning, data-processing and reconstruction algorithms, and identify where the architecture needs to evolve. Start defining the roadmap and the success criteria for algorithm performance. What we offer A full-time role (40 hours/week) with real technical ownership over Invisix's core algorithms. A competitive salary and other nice benefits. The chance to shape the algorithmic backbone of our measurement technology from a senior individual-contributor seat, without management overhead. A professional, fast-paced scale-up culture built around a shared sense of purpose. Interested? If this sounds like your kind of challenge, we'd like to hear from you, even if you only recognize yourself in part of this description. Submit your resume, and let's find out together if there's a match. If this isn't quite the right position for you but you're still interested in Invisix, reach out to us at [email protected]. Diversity & Inclusion We're committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace, where ideas and individuals flourish. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds and judge candidates on merit and potential contribution, regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, age, religion, disability, or other identity characteristics. What we're looking for is talent with integrity, a collaborative mindset, and a drive to make an impact. Your Data Your application data is processed by Invisix and kept in our applicant tracking system so we can consider you for this role and future opportunities. See our privacy policy for details: invisix.com/privacybeleid.
