- Reports To: Life Actuarial HIT Squad Lead
Role Overview: The HIT Squad is CBSI’s dedicated actuarial innovation team, focused on standardising, automating, and improving key processes across Life Actuarial Valuation. As an Actuarial Technology expert, you will combine actuarial knowledge with practical technology skills to build automated workflows, support controlled use of AI tools, and develop reusable, auditable solutions that improve efficiency, consistency, and scalability across the offshore valuation team
Responsibilities
- Process Automation & Workflow Engineering: Design, build, and maintain automated actuarial workflows using Python and SQL to replace manual, error-prone steps with robust, auditable pipelines for data extraction, transformation, validation, and output generation.
- AI/LLM Implementation: Develop and apply AI and large language model tools within actuarial workflows, including automated report generation, assumption change summaries, anomaly detection, and intelligent data checks. Evaluate emerging tools and prototype practical use cases relevant to Life actuarial functions.

- Documentation & Standardization: Build well-documented, version-controlled, reusable code and process documentation. Establish standards so any team member can run, support, and maintain a process without relying on the original author.
- Validation Controls & Checks: Design automated validation checks and reconciliation controls within actuarial pipelines to identify upstream data issues, model errors, and output anomalies before they reach stakeholders.
Skills and Qualifications
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mathematics, economics, Actuarial Science or Statistics.
3–5 exams from a recognized actuarial institute (SOA, IFoA, or equivalent);
2–5 years of actuarial experience in a Life insurance context, with exposure to life actuarial valuation (US GAAP LDTI/IFRS17 etc.).

Python and/or SQL proficiency (strongly preferred): ability to write, maintain, and troubleshoot data pipelines and automation scripts.
Practical exposure to AI/LLM tools (strongly preferred): prompt engineering, API-based integration with genuine curiosity to apply them in an actuarial context.

Data visualization familiarity (Power BI, Tableau, or Python libraries) — desirable.
Proficiency in MS Excel and other office applications.
