The Business Configuration Analyst Trainer enables employees, clients, partners, and other internal personnel to learn, use or configure Life Solutions platforms and products effectively by designing, delivering, and continuously improving business and technical training programs at beginner, intermediate, or advanced learner levels. Reporting to the Life Solutions Business Program Training Leader, this role independently executes approved training and configuration assignments within established standards. This role may make day-to-day delivery decisions but must escalate and communicate the changes to scope, solution design, commitments, timelines, or client-impacting outcomes to the Training Leader.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and deliver structured instructor-led, virtual, and digital training on Life Solutions platforms, tools, workflows, methodologies, and client-specific configurations.
- Maintain training content, user guides, and learning-system assets, so materials remain accurate, accessible, and aligned with approved platform and process changes.
- Partner with the Training Leader and project leads to assess audience needs, define learning objectives, and build training plans that address verified skill gaps.
- Facilitate workshops, webinars, practice activities, and targeted coaching that enable learners to demonstrate required knowledge and skills.
- Assess learner performance, document results, and use evaluation data and stakeholder feedback to improve content and delivery.
- Provide subject-matter support, knowledge sharing, and mentoring within approved content and configuration standards; escalate exceptions, policy interpretations, and commitments beyond assigned authority to the Training Leader.
- Track delivery milestones, risks, issues, decisions, and outcomes, and provide concise status reporting to the Training Leader and project stakeholders.
Work Allocation and Scope
- Training delivery and project execution: Complete approved training assignments, prioritizing scheduled learner delivery and client commitments, time-sensitive content and environment readiness, and configuration, testing, analysis, and reporting work.
- Configure Life Solutions platform and product components, rules, orchestrations, data entities, and training environments under established standards and project direction.
- Create and execute training-related test cases, document solutions to questions, support customer training, partner with subject-matter experts for content development, and demonstrate completed story-level training functionality.
- Translate business requirements and technical objectives into practical learning plans, solutions, and resources for internal and external audiences.
- Work within Agile and software development life cycle practices, collaborating across training, business, and technology teams to close identified learning gaps.
- Stakeholder liaison up to 10%: Coordinate approved information, needs, issues, and follow-up actions across training projects and internal and external teams; when liaison demand threatens planned delivery, notify the Training Leader promptly so priorities, timelines, or resources can be reset.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, computer science, education, or related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Two to three years of relevant experience in training, business analysis, technical consulting, software implementation, or comparable discipline; equivalent demonstrated capability may be considered.
- Foundational knowledge of adult learning, facilitation, needs analysis, learner evaluation, and instructional content development.
- Ability to analyze problems, communicate clearly, manage assigned work, and translate technical concepts for varied audiences.
- Demonstrated leadership skills, including the ability to influence without direct authority, foster collaboration, provide constructive guidance, and take ownership of assigned outcomes while escalating decisions beyond the role authority.
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams, Zoom, and collaborative content platforms.
Preferred Qualifications and Developing Capabilities
- Experience with instructional design, adult learning principles, virtual or in-person facilitation, and learner mentoring programs.
- Familiarity with Articulate 360, Captivate, Camtasia, learning management systems like Docebo, SharePoint, Confluence, JIRA, or comparable learning or technical technologies.
- Exposure to SQL, XML/XSLT, artificial intelligence tools, software testing, and defect-management practices.
- Working knowledge of Life Solutions platform architecture, workflows, configuration methods, project methodology, and end-to-end insurance software components.
- Ability to configure automated tests, orchestrations, rules, data entities, attributes, and relationships using predefined standards.
- Working knowledge of at least two life or annuity products and the ability to apply product concepts in training and configuration scenarios.
- Developing capability to lead training workstreams, facilitate cross-functional decisions, coach peers and learners, navigate change, and build alignment among internal teams, clients, and partners.
Performance Measures
- Performance targets are set by the Training Leader at the start of each quarter and reviewed monthly using the learning management system, project plans, quality reviews, assessment results, stakeholder surveys, and issue logs.
- Delivery reliability: At least 90% of assigned training content and delivery milestones are completed by the approved due date, excluding documented dependency-driven changes.
- Learner proficiency: At least 80% of learners meet the defined passing standard or demonstrate required job-based proficiency by the agreed evaluation point.
- Content quality: Materials pass the designated review before release, and confirmed critical inaccuracies are corrected within the priority timeframe set by the Training Leader.
- Stakeholder experience: Facilitation and support meet the quarterly satisfaction target established by the Training Leader and show documented follow-up on material concerns.
- Configuration and testing quality: Assigned work meets documented acceptance criteria, quality standards, and escalation protocols, with defects and decisions recorded in the approved project system.
- Communication and development: Status, risks, issues, decisions, and follow-up actions are reported by agreed deadlines, and progress against the quarterly development plan is reviewed with the Training Leader.
